Chelsea have Watford, Everton and Bournemouth approaching and if they don't get maximum points out of these three matches then I doubt Conte will last the season. 2 defeats on the trot.

  6. Well done, Watford
Another goal and it would have dropped the Goons below Burnley!! <laugh>

Shouldn't be greedy, though. All in all it's been a good day :emoticon-0148-yes:

Something's amiss on the Goon's board, today's match thread filled a whole one and a half pages.

Chelsky/Goons/Poool will have to play very well
now til the end of season to have any hope of
finishing above ... Burnley and Watford.

All that remains now for today is : ArsenalFanTV.

Watford meet Chelsea next, this sets them up beautifully for the match.

What a great weekend! Just a shame Burnley didn't beat West Ham, shouldn't complain though.

    2 weeks away!
Today was a different kettle of fish. You knew Mourinho would play not to lose at Anfield, especially with players just coming back from internationals, some injuries and the risk of being thrashed if the game was too open. Utd have yet to show that the team has improved in games away to the big teams - lost at Chelsea, Spurs & Arsenal last season with uninspiring 0-0s at City & Liverpool. Mourinho is a pragmatist - he'd take draws in all those games.
It's about who turns up on the day v Spurs.. Both teams will look to counterattack. Utd are on a very long unbeaten run at OT so I don't see a Spurs win.
    1-1 perhaps?

  18. Troy Deeney's response to Wenger's predictable match assessment:

"I've heard Wenger's already saying the penalty is the reason they lost. Well, I'm not going to be one to tell Mr Wenger about himself, but there's a reason they lost and it wasn't because of one penalty. It's having a bit of cojones. Whenever I play against Arsenal, I'll go up and think 'let me whack the first one and see who wants it. I came on today and jumped up with Mertesacker - I didn't even have to jump, actually. I nodded it down, the crowd got up - 'yeah we've got somebody who can win it' - and they all just backed off.'

  19. He's been doing it for years, and even Gooners are now becoming fed up with it. This is a typical Wenger interview:-

Presenter: "That goal of yours had a bit of luck about it. On another day, it could have been given off-side?"
Wenger: "I did not see it."
Presenter: You were stood right next to the player!"
Wenger: "Yes, but still, I did not see it."
Presenter: "What about the penalty decision that lead to their first goal?"
Wenger: "It was an outrageous decision! One of the worst!"
Presenter: "The incident was at the other end of the pitch from where you were!"
Wenger: "Yes, and I still saw it..."
Presenter: "...hidden among a throng of players!"
    Wenger: "I have perfect eyesight..."
Presenter: "...and the player was surrounded by a lead security-screen!"
Wenger: "Yes, but I am able to read minds, and the player admitted to me, telepathically, that he had cheated!"
