Despite the fact I'm gutted he's gone. I'm glad we didn't cave in and offer him whatever he wanted. That's how our wage bill starts shooting up and all our 'big players' start doing it.

Andy Carroll = greedy bastard, fancy asking for a new deal 3 months after signing a 5 year deal

He was fortunate to wear the Number 9 shirt, clearly he doesn't deserve it

I'm glad we didnt offer it.

The only players who deserve a pay rise are Joey, Jose and possibly Nolan and as far as I'm aware none have asked for one. Joey's taken a pay cut, Jose will probably get a rise soon and I'm not sure about Nolan?

I dunno how Carroll could be so stupid???? What was he thinking?? Got more luck getting blood out of a stone then getting money out of Ashley!

I wouldnt believe Ashley & Llambias' spin if my life depended on it, how many times do we have to find out about their lie's before being taken in again?

After what Pardew has come out with leading up to this debacle and what he's saying now I've no doubt left in my mind that he's nothing more than a YES man, another figure at SJP with Ashley's hand up his arse pulling the strings :(

Could not agree more if i tried....

If Andy is offered £80k a week by Liverpool how difficult is it to say no when it nearly triples his wages? It's our wage cap that's proved the problem here, Andy wants to know if he can earn more at this club and the answer was a big fat NO and so, knowing you can't earn any more than what you're on and considering the wages you see other lesser players have around the country, what would you do?
I stressed yesterday if you want top players then they want top wages. I fear for us, all that's going to happen is we pick up good players, bring through good players, get them to the wage cap, a club then comes in and says "oh, we can do £60k a week for you" and their heads turned. Some will argue that we're in a financially good position for it and blah blah blah but the truth is £30k a week is NOT going to be enough to secure top talent and keep them happy here, case in point Carroll.

I am stewing he left, he could have said no, but I'm so certain this was mainly Ashley's doing again, thinking if he got Carroll to take the blame he'd never join Liverpool and tell the truth. Ashley needs to scrap the wage cap, how long before a club tell's Tiote "if you like £30k, how about £60k a week?" and yet again our club tell him "sorry, we can't match that."

Did anyone see the footage on SSN this morning of when the Liverpool fans were chanting ACs name...? I only caught it briefly but on it you see AC walking in the background and he seems to look quite happy and pretty pleased with himself, he certainly wasn't looking glum about leaving Newcastle as his texts would make out!!!

We've already been down the 'pay them what they want' route and look where that took us; Martins, Viduka and Owen firing us into... the championship. We can't be held to ransom by players. Look at how spurs are doing with a (alledgedly) relatively low wage cap. As we look to establish ourselves in the league we can look to increase the wages paid to players
