If Andy is offered ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã80k a week by Liverpool how difficult is it to say no when it nearly triples his wages? It's our wage cap that's proved the problem here, Andy wants to know if he can earn more at this club and the answer was a big fat NO and so, knowing you can't earn any more than what you're on and considering the wages you see other lesser players have around the country, what would you do?
I stressed yesterday if you want top players then they want top wages. I fear for us, all that's going to happen is we pick up good players, bring through good players, get them to the wage cap, a club then comes in and says "oh, we can do ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã60k a week for you" and their heads turned. Some will argue that we're in a financially good position for it and blah blah blah but the truth is ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30k a week is NOT going to be enough to secure top talent and keep them happy here, case in point Carroll.
I am stewing he left, he could have said no, but I'm so certain this was mainly Ashley's doing again, thinking if he got Carroll to take the blame he'd never join Liverpool and tell the truth. Ashley needs to scrap the wage cap, how long before a club tell's Tiote "if you like ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30k, how about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã60k a week?" and yet again our club tell him "sorry, we can't match that."
