There is one running of the morrow that I’ve put up before and I’ll do so again here. Please be upstanding for LADY VESTA, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, who runs in the ‘lucky last’ at Ludders (5.10).

She’s a rare venture into the NH sphere (although admittedly not over timber) for old boy Marcus Tregoning and to date her 2 runs have resulted in a pair of runner-up berths. First time up Lady Vesta put up a solid debut to go down by just 0.75 lengths at God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot, whilst last time she just lost out in a dual, at Stratford, with the pair pulling a whopping, and I do mean whopping, 25 lengths clear of the 3rd home. With that experience under her belt I would expect Lady Vesta to now be ready to enter the old winner’s enclosure.

It should also be worth noting that those efforts were against the old boy geldings but tomorrow she contests a ‘mares only’ heat. Meanwhile, Lady Vesta is a well-bred sort with her dam being a 6 time winner for the barn and the stable are in competent form with, at the time of writing, 2 out of Mr Tregoning’s last 3 runners winning, I say winning.

This does though look an above average heat with both Grania O’Malley and Presenting Pearl also having decent placed form, Fine Ark being a daughter of a 5 time winning mare and Fidji De La Mare being a half-sister to a couple of winners.

As stated above Lady Vesta is a rare runner in the NH sphere for Mr Tregoning but curiously he also has another running tomorrow in the bumpy-bumper at Towcester – the 3YO filly Celesiana. No opinions re this race, as its full of unraced types, but it should be an informative one as opponents include one owned by the 11th richest man in Wales and the absolutely splendidly monikered Raving Bonkers, what a lovely name for a gelding by the way!

I now realise that I’ve waffled on for quite a bit so I’ll just add - good luck, pilgrims.

7.55 Kempton- Blue De Vega 3/1

Nice and early for this one as I reckon the price will collapse! Last contested in G2 over in Ireland ove 6f but has won a G3 over 7f and altho that probably is his preferred distance he has his first run for Robert Cowell and has easily the best form on show and won’t be going off this price tomorrow

I see Marcus Tregoning has a runner at Towcester in the bumper - a tip in itself surely ?!?

For what it's worth I rate GRANIA O'MALLEY to have the better form to win the Ludlow bumper and the Vaughan horse KINGS TEMPLE ticks the boxes on pedigree for the Towcester race.

In fact he actually has two runners in the bumpers and Towcester and Ludlow so I was pointing out the other one !! The double for all you wanting to know pays 14/1!

By the way, team, if Coeur De Lion doesn’t get in Saturday’s ‘Cesarewitch’ then in all likelihood he will head to York, on the same day for a 16.5 furlong handicap. Newmarket is though by far the preferred option as (i) its prizepot is £250,000 compared to York’s £15,000 and (ii) due to the vagaries of the early closing system if Coeur De Lion runs in the ‘Cesarewitch’ it will be off 79 but at York he would run off 83.

I'm quite mystified as to why Alan Potts has come to this arrangement with Bryan Cooper for him to ride his horses in the UK. I thought Robbie Power has been doing a really good job for him and I can't imagine there would be many racedays where there would be Potts runners in both the UK and Ireland. Strange indeed.

Why is Dollar and a Dream 66/1 in the 3 30 Ludlow? Could make that price look very silly and Very juicy at 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4, better not be no more non runners!!!
