In the context of a sporting competition it's perfectly normal to favour your own country over others.

I appear to be the last England fan on this board who was actually glad to have qualified, notwithstanding that the only ****er that even likes England or proud to be English.

Not true as it happens. I always support England, and you can scroll back and I don't think you'll see me knocking them. I was born within a mile of the hallowed Carrow road turf, so I support City unfailingly, I also support the country of my birth and the country of my parents. All of them. I'm happy where I am. If I was 'reluctantly English' I'd **** off somewhere else. Without complaining.

Perfectly honorable to support the country your parents came from you would even be eligible to have represented Ireland if you were good enough like Angus Gunn and Scotland.
I am however reluctantly living in Ipswich at the moment.

In many ways a strange move, given his theoretical want to move back toward where his family were oop north, there must be other non-league clubs willing to have a punt that would better suit that situation? Though he did end up in Scotland so I guess it comes down to who will pay the most for the dying embers of his career.

Last I heard, he and his family have moved back to Norfolk

The last I heard, he now lives not far from Loddon, so his kids can go to Langley school.
 
I mentioned on another thread a few weeks back that Lappin was going to sign for Lynn. Announcement was held up because he had to fulfil another commitment first. Holt is very close to his sister and her family which is why he wanted to head back North. In the meantime his sister had become very attached to Norfolk so both families have now moved to Norfolk. He was approached by Cambridge Utd but weeks out of training had taken its toll and they did not offer him a contract so he had to lower his sights. His connection with Culverhouse proved crucial so he has signed for Lynn
