Give Newcastle credit, their centre back dominated us. What were we thinking knocking it long to Gyan and the 8th Dwarf Sessegnon? Collocinni owned them.

At least it was only 1-0, doesnt have the same ring to it as 5-1. Lets hope we have a post defeat revival like last year, with wins against Stoke and Chelsea then.

What annoys me is that we still have to play them away, we dont have a win on the board (they do), many many of our fans will lose belief (Expect attendances to drop) and this sets the tone for the season.
 
Think that is the hurt talking mate. Agree on the 2 players like. We bossed the first half didn't get the break through. Ming had a mare moment but was a good free kick. Whickham couldn't really make a difference in that situation could he? Think we wil go on a good run now and on the up side might just force us back into the market for a striker
 
I think blaming whickam is a bit harsh mind, he only got a cameo appearance, and couldnt really do a lot.
 
Yeah throowing Ji AND Wickham on in the deep end like that pretty much summed up Bruce's desperation at the end. We need another experienced striker ASAP.

We completely out played them in the first half and lost because in that first half we did not take our chances. Simple as that. I want to forget the 2nd half.

We need a striker no doubt, but to be honest I can't think who we could get?

This. I was saying to my dad, we have had SO many great chances in the first half, you can just see that its going to go tits up and we will regret it later.
 
Mignolet is not good enough, Elmo far to ineffectual and didn't deserve a contact imo, Anton isn't good enough, Wes Brown had a shocker, Richardson is no left back, Gyan spent most of his time with the ball outside the box, Gardner should have been on from the start and we should have played 2 up top. I lost genuine belief 20 odd year ago but still never miss a match more out of habit than out else. The worst newcstle side in 20 year just turned us over at home AGAIN!...
