I thought Alex Bruce was League 1 standard at best, which was why I found it so frustrating he kept getting in the team ahead of Faye, Macca and Maguire. He could tackle, but that was about it, there was nothing else to his game and I could see why Faye got so pissed off.

I'll put my neck on the line and say I'd pick Hector too out of the pair, but I'd play Mazuch over both of them.

We could do with some of that. Not only could he tackle, (He was the best tackler we've had in the last ten years), he was brave, he'd put his head and his heart in there. That's something we sorely lack.

Edit: Chester was the best tackler we had in the last ten years.

now you're being daft - yes he would fly in and yes it was quite funny to see him chop down Costa but most times his lunges would miss the target or give away a needless foul - Macca was just the same but he could run with the ball as well, pity he was a bit careless but certainly he put his head and his heart into everything - a tackle is taking the ball off someone not just lunging in - James Chester was as good at stopping a player running at him as I've seen at City but others were good too - where I do agree with you is that we sorely lack a player who gets stuck in or someone who can tackle someone and there lies the problem

I thought Ashbee was better at the no-nonsense approach myself. Turner was also better at it, but that's just my opinion.

It felt like he had to give everything because he couldn't really do much else. When he first came he was apparently puking at half time, I'm not sure his head was all there.

The puking was just reflux, much the same as Stuart Elliott.

You are so stupid, you can't argue with stupid.

great - the question was is success or failure preferable under Allam's ownership this year, my contribution was that anybody wanting the team to fail was a ****, your contribution was 'Alex Bruce' - personally I'd tell the nurse you're ready for bed now and ask her to read you a story from your Noddy Annual before she locks you in for the night as I'm trying to watch Question Time

Did an adult come back to explain the topics under discussion?

That game we won against Liverpool that was 3-1 if I remember rightly was another brilliant game for Bruce, was a great pleasure to see Suarez struggle all game and being stuck in Bruce's pocket! Was it also that game or against Man Utd when he went through 3 players in quick succession with sliding tackles? Delightful stuff and got the whole crowd going

as been discussed he's not john terry or rio but at least him and dawson could organise things. i bet we wouldnt have conceded as many goals from crosses to un-marked players as we have
Might have conceded more penalties though...:emoticon-0105-wink:

Read post 12, the thread didn't even mention him until some clown decided to include him in the discussion - maybe you should ask him why he thought he was relevant to the discussion because it's lost on me

But you are totally obessed with him , I don't know much about other posters on here but I know that about you

He mentioned him because he knew you go off on one I suppose and you duly obliged
