Well, I'm happy. Might just pull the cork out of something nice from the Gandy cellar.<bubbly>

An interesting comment from Gary Gowers on MFW - "To have emerged with a 1-0 shows that Team Farke is indeed learning. The curve may be steep, along with that of several of the players, but it’s being met head on. And, irony of ironies, for the third time this season a win has been achieved with City having the minority of possession – all against the backdrop of a desire to dominate it.
It suggests the laudable ideals with which Daniel Farke and his team arrived have had to be re-assessed and tweaked to deal with the vagaries of the Championship. And if the last three outings are anything to go by they are on the way to being addressed positively. Sure, we’d like to sweep all and sundry aside by virtue of 70 per cent possession but in this league that’s simply not going to happen."

His final comment was BRILLIANT -
“NCFC fans frustrated by Burton time-wasting moan about it
SUFC fans frustrated by Norwich time-wasting beat up away fans

Good article JMF. Like others, I'm hugely encouraged by the solidity that has come with the new formation. At last the technical skills are being balanced by grit and organisation. Stiepermann (who scored 8.4 on Whoscored), has eliminated the weakness at LB while also showing good distribution out of defense. Klose and Zimmerman are pairing up well and Pinto is back to his best. Wildschut also showed what he can bring to the team from either flank. At last things seem to be coming together.

I've yet to see any official EFL management looking into the bottle and coin throwing incidents by SUFC fans, or indeed the lack of control in allowing Sheffield fans to access the away sides exit and put at least two fans in hospital! <steam>

Sensible stuff (as ever) from Melissa Rudd's column.

So what exactly has the manager done to bring around such a turn in defensive form? There’s no question that replacing Russell Martin with Timm Klose at centre-half has made a huge difference. Christoph Zimmerman has looked far more dependable next to him, while Marco Stiepermann at left back has adjusted brilliantly to his new role. The German has come into his own and had more touches than any other City player on Saturday, winning four aerial duels in the process. Both with the ball at his feet and defensively he has looked increasingly impressive.

Reading PD's player ratings' article earlier - Trybull has been very impressive and he made him MotM. Josh had a poor first half and so was substituted at half time - pity DF didn't make the same call on Tuesday!!!!!

Some interesting summing up on the team's heroics from PD in today's EDP - "The unflappable German is at pains to point out nothing in England’s second tier has caught him by surprise but this must have proved a sharp learning curve for him and many of the new players he recruited from his homeland. Tom Trybull and Marco Stiepermann appear to relish the physical tariff. Christoph Zimmermann betrayed no signs of weakness alongside Timm Klose, while Alex Tettey is responding in kind after being recalled from the cold."
