Ta for the link El_B... looks better than the ones I currently have, no live timing, no red button = ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hulkenburg Has set the fastest time with a 1.15.948 in the VJM-03 2 seconds ahead of d'Ambrosio in the new virgin

Alonso has come in with some engine troubles

I was about to post this as a new thread but then remembered this one...So today is the first day of pre season testing. Today will mainly be about general reliability and gaining an understanding of the new tyres, which should have changed considerable since the Pirelli tyre test in Abu Dhabi - well that's McLaren's excuse for not letting their main drivers take part in the test.

Last year, the quickest time was a 1.11.470 - set by Alonso. That was with double diffusers, so the times set last year will be the benchmark for the teams. Let's see if they have recovered the performance that they lost without the double diffuser.

It's a real shame that testing is not filmed, but autosport usually do great coverage of the event. This year, they've decided to introduce some sort of "Special Offer" where you must pay £1.99... **** that! I'm looking around for some good links, and i'll add them when I see them. Here's a few decent ones:

Oh yes, well spotted... though to be fair, I did a copy and paste from another site <ok>

Some websites always do that, they must not update a database or something they have as they must have a system that automatically enter the team for that driver.

So current pecking order of the new cars is : Ferrari, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Red Bull and then Williams. It'd be very interesting if it stays like that - something tells me it won't...

Red Flag! Rosberg has stopped on the start finish straight. Didn't expect a failure so soon.

Nico Rosberg causes the first red flag as his car has cut out on the track. I wonder if they will be doing this alot like they did last year, running out of fuel on purpose and causing red flags

Ferrari are using yellow paint on the rear of the car:

Jose, its because Alonso had an engine issue, and they wanted to check the airflow.

They were using the yellow paint before the engine trouble. I presume they are looking at airflow on the rear wing ready for the upgraded version

Anyone else loving the fact that, despite all the money in F1 - the best solution was bright yellow paint?

Hulkenburg does a 1:13.938

As much as I want Di Resta to do well, I secretly want Hulk to set a quicker lap time.
