For all the people (not on here but texting into BBC etc.) who are saying it is not a red:

- He kicked someone in the head
- He didn't need to
- The goalkeeper went down and has gone off
- The goalkeeper did not roll around holding his face in the one time I have seen recently where he would be 100% justified in doing so

That is why it deserves a red card. The type of play that encourages MMA style behaviour should be discouraged

I can't believe liverpool fans are defending that. yes he didn't intentionally kick the goalkeeper in the head but he intentionally put his foot in a position that could cause some really serious damage. you can't have players doing that which is why you need the punishment.

Neville does not seem to understand to meaning of the word 'dangerous'.
Intent matters not a jot. Otherwise we'd have 'accidental' shotgun discharges during games you tit.
He kicked the keeper in the head and out of the game ffs !!!!!
And reality the red wasn't for kicking the guy in the head it was for putting his foot into a dangerous place that lead him do so and that action was intentional unless people are suggesting his foot was blown there by the wind.
