End of this season, thank ****.

Final game will be Cup final.

Dreadful commentator, heavily reliant on Rothmans yearbook, droney Estuarial whine and single-handedly reduced football commentator to a semi-joke job.

He was also the only male in England who used to get angry when topless women ran on the pitch occasionally in televised games late last century.

Good riddance.

When I see old repeats of matches from the early/mid-Eighties, he comes across much better. He was OK for a time, until he slipped into imitating the caricature version of himself and his mental sharpness seemed to wane.

Not bad back in the day but in recent years some of his commentary has bordered on embarrassing.

I always thought it was the wrong decision when BBC gave Motty the best gigs ahead of Barry Davies after the legendary David Coleman moved on, a decision that prompted Davies himself to move on to other sports. That was a massive loss to football commentary at the time as he was by far the better of the two...in my opinion of course.

Davies was a little too opinionated for my palate.

The sheepskin coat portrayed an image of an old has-been and that was 20 years ago. I went off him when he made a statement then said : 'and Mark Lawrenson agrees' as if we all had to bow at his feet...To$$er.

He's still better than Clive Tyldesley.

Damned with faint praise.

They're both ****, tbh.

Tyldesley is a ra ra boy for the money clubs and England- he has no credibility as an informed neutral or observer.

Can you imagine Barry Davies allowing Delle Ali to give the ref the finger v Slovakia in close up and say nowt?

Shameful commentating.

I couldn't stand Coleman. Often his first thought was just to shout a score update when there had been a goal. As in, "One nil!" I'm not sure he even liked football. He should have stuck to athletics. There's a reason Colemanballs was named after him. "And Juantarena opens his legs and shows his class."

Edit. Apparently that was Ron Pickering.

Frank Bough introduced a boxing match by saying "Harry Commentator is your carpenter" - Wikipedia

"Just look at his face..."

Bonus points for commentator and player whose boat was referred to....
