He'd get that for signing new contract with us.

He won't be getting about 10mil tax free off us :emoticon-0148-yes:

That's the reality... he will be making an absolute killing off us.

Before now players like delle alli for example were delighted to see levy call and hand contract after contract to thrm with signing on fees etc but the reality is once they establish firmly its not in their interest.

This is what sterling did after all.. just get used to it. It is how the relationship spurs by actions of one or other parties that then plays to get fans on one side or other.

FSG are big enough to **** Barca's ringpiece and give them a Zapatta too. Our problem has been, since they bought the club, they had a half-arsed, moneyball attitude and were almost semi-interested. I'ved crucified them more than anyone. BUT, if they're now getting interested they should recognise the obvious - Liverpool can be the highest profile in their portfolio, even more than the Red Sox in international terms, simply because football will always trump baseball in the worldwide scheme of things.

Heck, it could just be a one-off that JH has been arsed this time and this is another false dawn: but it could also be a shift in focus - we'll see. But even if/when Ford goes, and even though it will probably be for less than the £118 we were sort of offered by Barca (I suspect a lot more than the £15m you suggest too), then that's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme, isn't it? And if FSG declare war on agents and shift the balance of power, then surely you'd agree that's a good thing for all, isn't it?

PS VVD/Hypocrisy : There, I've said it for you.
There's a wide range of opinion on FSG on here, but on this matter, mine is that there hasn't really been a sea-change. Very early on, JH showed his amazement as to how glibly contracts were treated in football, and how the tail wags the dog.
He did the same thing over Suarez when Arsenal came calling as he has done over Coutinho, and he appears to have kept his word over the van Dijk issue as well.
There's an old-fashioned type of American for whom honour and honesty still seem to mean something, and he appears to be one of them. Even letting Suarez go the following year is fairly consistent, because I think he found his behaviour embarrassing and didn't want to be associated with it.
There's no doubt that his understanding of football leaves a lot to be desired, and that FSG have made some mistakes - but I don't think he'll ever be pushed around easily.

Somehow doubt he be getting £10m tax free signing on fee of Juve or anyone else come to that.
However using that logic it would make financial sense for LFC to offer Can that as a new signing may cost more and as a bonus we already know the strength / weakness of him.

Bet he will. The fee was 23mil or whatever in press. We didnt sell so theres cash there to hand him a huge sum

Yes you are right on offerimg hum.stuff but in the end the other attractions are still there we cannot.compete with.

Lets be grateful he wants to play well for us now.

Id rather applaud him off on last home game than see him pull a coutinho. Im confident he will.play very well all year... a world.cup.year ;)

I know Keita will be a good signing, but of our midfield 3, Can is better than Wijnaldum and Henderson. So I don't see it as a positive if we replace our best midfielder. Would much rather lose Henderson

If Juve were willing o pay lfc 25m for him then getting him on a free with a 10m bonus saves them 15m

Dont think people seeing it as a positive more that they are looking to try find some positive in that we've already replaced him so only need to buy additional cm if we want to replace any of current squad. Better than going into next year losing him then having to find and buya replacement plus find and buy improvements.

Old Boy at Booker Infants and Junior school - learnt to swim at Garston Baths. Its was decrepit in the 70's and only shut when they built the new sport center this Millennium. Locals always thought we were posh coming from Allerton L18 (all of like half a mile away).
Anyway back on topic. I was thinking about the bench we could of put out against Arsenal (subject to injuries of course)
Goalie : Mignolet
CBs : Clyne / Milner
MF : Cortina / Lallana
CF : Studge

6 of last seasons first teamers. OK bit of a cheat with Ming, as Karius is obvs backup. So lets say 5 of last seasons first teamers on our bench. I think if we can put this bench out and still have a really strong first team on the pitch, then we have definitely strengthened the squad.
The other point I wanted to make is that if we want local lads to break thru, then we cant always buy new players every window. Part of pre-season is to evaluate youngsters and marginal squad players to see if they have developed. This is what has happened with TAA and Moreno.
If you're in/from Redington Road that's L19 me old mate <whistle>

Barca director apparently told press conference Liverpool wanted €200m (£138m) for Cout and they wouldn't put the club at risk like that....

Couple things.
1) we wasn't for sale
2) You paid about that for Dembele so...
3) What kind of exchange rate are Sky working on that €200m is £138m because I should have spoken to them before I went and got my euros!
