If we sell Couthino and nobody else in, we've stood relatively still. Our over-riding priority imo was defence. If we don't add here, it's been a poor window tbh.
Cheer up mate. We haven't bothered defending for a long time now. To me it's more a case of philosophy than personnel. Imo, VvD will improve our defence, but he won't suddenly transform it into an impenetrable wall. I agree that a solid defence would improve the success rate, but I don't really see us abandoning the all-out attack method. Also, progress isn't necessarily dependent on the importing of big names all the time. Just go with it, whatever happens.
