<ok> Here's my post -

I think the thing here is that if you 'believe' (in whatever shape or form, which is your right of course) then crack on. But to those of us who don't believe, we can't help but think that you're all disturbed in some way. I don't mean that to take the piss but I find it incredible that seemingly intelligent adults buy into it. Furthermore, if someone doesn't agree with something like for instance the policy on immigration (just an example btw) then it's human nature to denigrate it and say 'what a load of rubbish', so why should religion be any different?[/QUOTE]

oh that question

i actually agree that it is human nature and why should certain things be different

however if you read back th eones who resorted to 'abuse' were the 'non believers' as it were

as you say you find it incredible that seemingly intelligent adults buy into it (it meaning religion, i assume)

I would say the same about those who peddle other 'theories'.

my points being that when talking about religion
A) people only look at from a western/christian viewpoint. Disregarding EVERYTHING else
B) dont actually know a lot about what they claim the do 'believe'

now cue those who think i am talking about them individually

Right, i'm bored of you now Hero<ok>

You can go back to deciding if you or Chico Jetpack is the biggest ****wit on here.

Onto my "bawbag list" <laugh> you go until I can be bothered toying with you again.

You really need to learn to distinguish between the religion and the church.

And how are they 'responsible for 100s of 1000s of deaths already through their preaching of "thou shalt not wear a Durex"'? If you are talking about abortions, the Church are against that too. As am I because I believe that life starts at conception and everyone has a right to life including an unborn child.

Erm, the spread of AIDS...perhaps <doh>

Cheers for sticking with it but I don't feel that you have answered my question, still.

I'm pro abortion. If people don't want to have children, that is their right to decide, not some passages written by a drunk guy in a dress many moons ago. Without abortion, population numbers would be insane. Think how many chavs would be on this planet if abortion was illegal.

Erm, the spread of AIDS...perhaps <doh>

The Church also teaches that sex before marriage(something I don't agree with) is wrong so they cannot be blamed for the spread of AIDS. Also, let us not forget that there is more than one way to get AIDS.

What about the rights of the unborn child though? If someone does not want to keep the child there is always adoption.

It's hardly a child when the abortion typically takes place. It's barely developed, and dumber than a room full of hairdressers. I don't count a week old foetus as a human being.

Classic, Catholic deflection tactics <doh>

I am talking in context to your question here, so 20 'religious' people

so an example would be the trinity, there is biblical evidence that this is not true

etc etc

You've completely confused me with that one!

Could you put it simpler, to someone who is unfamiliar with 'the trinity' and such like?

I agree with sex before marriage, because an ugly bugger like myself is unlikely to get married. At least now there was the occasional drunken romp.

It is still alive. Life begins at conception, not birth. That is just my opinion though.

I mean, how can you fear something you cannot see?

If I see some big **** with a rifle rampaging around Sevenoaks then I'm a bit worried.

If I get told that there's this un-shaven guy maybe cutting around in some mythical existence, then I don't really give a flying ****.

"The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate,
contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and
unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the
discomfort of thought."
