Been reported that he would be will to take a pay cut to join even a championship side. No doubt about his ability if his head is in the right place.

Would you take a punt on him?
 
If the pay cut was enourmous, then yeah, why not?

He is capable, if not brilliant, always overrated, but that don't make him useless.

He'd surely be bit part though, and i imagine he wants to play, or he'd sit there on the money.
 
I think a loan deal would suit us as he could prove himself, does well and both are winners. But then again how many play well on loan then crap when sign but that would be for next season. I'd personally take the chance because he was brilliant for balckburn first time but sh***e second time round, but they were terrible last season.

i agree dont think he is the answer but we do need another striker(even just a loan), if gyan gets injured we have two young kids who will no doubt be quality players in time, but it's a bit much to through them in at the deep end and risk are whole season going to **** because we cant score goals..
 
Sad really, as a youngster in the bundesliga and a regular in the Paraguay team he looked an immense prospect. It just hasn't come off for him. Not one I'd look at personally. Shame we didn't look at Nelson Valdez as he left Hercules. A better player in my eyes.

Agree with this. Yes on Valdez BIG no on Santa Cruz.

Valdez took the money though, twice.

Last summer, he was close but 'wouldn't play in England as it's too cold....'

Now he's gone to ****ing Russia!
