He's done absolutely nothing wrong. It's his right to not sign again and look for a better deal. When's all said and done, all players are mercenary. Even those most 'loyal' don't do it for peanuts. At least he's seen it through.

Oh and what's the difference between ox Chamberlain and can?

    Really?

Ox is playing away, not giving any less, not causing any trouble as far as we know. Neither is can.

I think we better get used to this cos with so much money in football transfer fees are so high that clubs will pay agents and players huge sums on frees to avoid 100mil transfer fees.

Ozil, sanchez, ox... all at l'arse. That will be fun.

In many ways as a 21 year old you want to establish yourself as a player then at 24 move on a free then at 28 be looking for you last big contract... then at 32 you want a club to mind you <laugh>

More and more players will be reluctant to re-sign, clubs have too much money now and can stand firm and not sell.

Plus - go on a free and double your wages, agent no doubt gets a massive golden handshake from the club he recommends to his client

This is why I think can money ball is for the birds.

You can try poach kids and that but the agents are about and by the time they develop they are off.

Can is perfect model. 5 years.. we get one good one and one half one max due to injury after developing him.

Coutinho we get what... 3 inconsistent years, maybe one half decent year and looks about to be super then wants to go.

No... get the 24 year olds on low contracts. Rob their clubs blind and then if they want to go after 5years let them.

The new model imo is the Matip model. Get them free and get them on a good performance wage.

Lacazette main issue was he kept wanting to leave and kept signing new deals... carvalho is prob the same.... wtf are these lads doing signing these deals and then ending up stuck with **** clubs like arsenal and West ham eh?

Barcelona consider bid for West Ham star as Liverpool refuse another Coutinho bid - report
The latest West Ham transfer news sees Barcelona linked with a move for Manuel Lanzini

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.

It has been reported[/a] that West Brom manager Tony Pulis is ready to make a club-record bid of £30 million for the Liverpool central defender.

According to the report, Pulis has abandoned his bid for Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer.

The Telegraph has also claimed that West Brom are preparing to sell central defender Jonny Evans to Manchester City.

Not really, Sakho has not featured for ages so it was as if he had already gone anyway. Just gives us more money to go for Messi !!!

Tottenham Hotspur have been listed by The Telegraph as shock suitors for Liverpool striker Divock Origi, with the Reds seemingly ready to let the Belgian attacker leave before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs have started their transfer business later than their Premier League rivals this summer but look set to be busy in the final week of the window.

A striker to complement and provide support for Harry Kane would be a boost for the Tottenham squad, with Vincent Janssen failing to launch since joining from AZ Alkmaar 12 months ago.

At first glance, Origi seems to fit the bill in terms of the type of player that Mauricio Pochettino targets and the former Lille attacker could well be a shrewd acquisition for last season’s Premier League runners-up.

So, Danny Mills is the latest 'pundit' from the Beeb and BarSkylona to have a dig at 'deluded' Liverpool fans for the club having the temerity to not sell Ford as they had confidently predicted would, indeed MUST, happen. This isn't about how ****ing 'big' the club is, and anyway, the last time I checked there was a player in Soton engineering a strike to get a move to Liverpool (and no, I don't ****ing approve of that).

The issue is that the player told the club he was happy in June when transfers were being planned (not that our transfers appear planned), and the first derisory bids from Barca were not even worth reading. Most of all though, we don't need to sell - this is the new reality .Furthermore, it's the screaming, kicking. wailing Barca in this chain who need to grasp this reality more than anyone, and their delusions that, because of their shirt, they are a 'bigger' club than PSG - in terms of transfers and 'pull' they're patently not anymore.

But we had to expect this from all the talking heads, ex-player pundits who've spent a month championing Barca's plans and nefarious methods (and even being part of them) as they realise they were, er, patently ****ing wrong. It has to be somebody's fault other than theirs - deluded fans it is then.

Some reason the pundits all think we need the Couts money to buy new players, like we're broke or something, all they say is 'could use the money to buy defenders etc cause its that simple right'. Only reason we haven't bought is cause the players we want wont be sold by their clubs, we we're willing to spend £100+m last month for two players ffs.
The money is there its just spending thats the problem.

Looks like Arsenal are resigned to losing Ox. Apparently they want £35m.

Stupid money for a player who clearly wants to leave and has one year left. Hopefully we can drive the price down to £20m / 25m.

Can play multiple positions, very good passing and excellent dribbler. Would suit our fast paced game perfectly I reckon.

I suppose it's the only thing you can expect from ex players. They share the same mentality as current ones and don't see the needs of the club and its fans as important enough to get in the way of the desire of the player to get what he wants.

You're right in what you said about it having **** all to do with being a big club or not but he's right about us not having the same pull in the transfer market as back in the day, I can't see why he said we aren't a big club anymore etc because if the right combo of players get us some silverware and put us on the road to sustained success the calibre of player will be better and then the club's stature rises to what it was, only problem we haven't been able to do it since our last title win, we looked like we might under Rafa in the 05-06_07 seasons but then it went tits up.

Lots of factors involved though, wage structure, purchasing of young players over established players etc, baseball expert playing moneyball on our behalf in the transfer market.<laugh>

Back in the day club's from these islands and europe used to visit Melwood to study our system and hope to copy it for their own club's success.
FSG should do similar and find a club that has the best overall system of success a learn from it.
