We weathered the storm pretty well there apart from those few corners. Bale's goal's well and truly killed it. Let's just hope we can finish the game with no injuries as these Hearts players seem pretty bitter about how things have gone.

Lovely goal! Great ball by Townsend in the build-up.

Quality ball from Townsend and Defoe did well too.

Is it me or is anyone else getting confused with the way the ref blows the whistle after every goal? I keep thinking he's blowing for offside.

No doubt Hearts are not very good. But also no doubt Spurs do look very good. Great, in particular, to see Defoe score and set one up. The game could be valuable just for that. If he plays regularly there's no reason he couldn't be among the leaders in goals again. Spurs continue to have an excellent record with Krancjar. I wonder... No doubt Modric is world class, but just because he does so much with the ball, maybe Spurs are better off against weaker teams with someone who's more direct.

Spurs XI would have given the 1st team a better run out.
So much for the "battle of Britain".

Great result. We played well against, what has to said, was not exactly top class opposition. I guess we'll find out just how good we really are on Monday!

We drew 0-0 and have a point on the table <ok>

Well done on beating Hearts though, I'm sure it will be another one for the DVD archive. <ok>

Impressed by Kyle Walker, he is looking a better player by the day and Bale and Lennon looked good.

Lets not get carried away, it was a good result, top confidence booster but Hearts would be hard pressed to beat Wet Spam.

Should've been six at the end though, too much dilly-dallying, need to put teams to the sword when we can.

And we need to keep Niko, against the lesser teams in the league he could be our game changer.

Everyone's fine, I think. BAE took a knock but got back up, VDV was taken off so as not to risk him, he should be fine for Monday.

Couldn't agree more, he is hugely underrated and it is unfortunate Bale is as good as he is, because Kranjcar would easily be the best player in the team of he played for one of the other midtable clubs. I think he scored a last minute winner for you guys last season.

As you say, a 5-0 scoreline is impressive but given the opposition it isn't spectacular.

They have one more point than us, Ensil ;-)

Nevertheless, still a poor start for the Chavs.

Oh **** off, don't disguise an insult with a compliment, we haven't been a regulation mid-table club in years - or are you one of those ever-so-boring plastic fans who think that the top flight started with the advent of Sky Sports and the PL?
