Couldn't agree more, he is hugely underrated and it is unfortunate Bale is as good as he is, because Kranjcar would easily be the best player in the team of he played for one of the other midtable clubs. I think he scored a last minute winner for you guys last season.

As you say, a 5-0 scoreline is impressive but given the opposition it isn't spectacular.

5th out of 20 isn't mid table.

Don't rise to it lads.

Well as they say, you can only beat what's in front of you and we sure as hell did that so a great start to the season it must be said. Bring on them Mancs! Jimmy Anderson says we're gonna win so it must be true.

Sorry that was poorly phrased, when I meant midtable I meant clubs other than Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

5th isn't midtable and is a good place to finish, particularly in a league as competitive as this one with so many big clubs and quality sides in it etc.

I would count Spurs as one of those clubs though.

Liverpool have finished below us the last 2 seasons so I would be hesitant to put them in that bracket of clubs above us these days and I expect us to finish close to Arsenal this season.

I would hope to be finishing far away from L'Arse this season to be honest. About three places above them far away.

Spurs are a good side there is no doubt that on their day they could beat anyone in the Premier League but they lack the prestige of Liverpool and United, the class of Arsenal and the power of Chelsea and City to attract the top notch of player.

I'm amazed given Spurs wage structure they have done so well to finish where they do, not many sides could do the same, but I fear because of it you are getting left behind.

Spurs are a decent side though and there aren't many (if any) that would fancy playing Spurs away from home, at home though it is a different. I'm sure on home turf any side in the PL would fancy their chances of nicking at least a point off Spurs, same can't be said for Chelsea, Arsenal, United, City and to a lesser extent Liverpool because they have they are mentally much tougher and slightly better sides than Spurs.

Fixed that for you.

Of course money is the perennial factor, but not the only factor. Champions League Football is a huge factor as is location. Why do you think the likes of Blackburn and clubs in the North East find it so hard to attract players?

Players would grow up wanting to play for Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Chelsea, maybe City in the near future, the same can't be said for Spurs. Not every player is motivated solely by money.

If Citeh had got that result under the same circumstances the media would be creaming themselves saying how its all coming together at Citeh and how the rest of the PL should be worried. You can only beat the opposition that turned up and we more than did that with a somewhat understrength team.

No, they don't I'm afraid.

Kids grow up wanting to play for the red Mancs or Pool, I'll accept - because of their history.

L'arse, Chelsea and the blue Mancs are the same as us when it comes to bringing kids on board - its all about generations of support. Not as many people as you think people outside of their catchment areas are fans of any of these clubs.

Errr. Did we not beat l'Arse and Pool at their homes last season?

I didn't say you can't beat teams away from home all I said was that teams would be disappointed if they didn't come away with anything.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool fans would have gone into those matches expecting to get something from Spurs I can 100% guarantee that.

I know fans of Wolves , West Ham and Aston Villa that were expecting a positive result against Spurs for instance, but gave themselves no hope of anything against Chelsea, United, Arsenal or City <ok>

We normally do well against the better teams in the Prem. Where we seem to fall down is against the so called "lesser teams".
At home, we seem to lack the guile and/or the strikeforce to break down determined, 10 men behind the ball, defences. Then go and get hit on the break, and lose 1-0
Away from home, we often get in front, and then throw it away with some ridiculous defending, or goalkeeping howler. In short, we have to learn to put away the lesser teams - how to "win ugly", if you like.

Jesus, I'm the most pessimistic Spurs fan on the board (who posts at least) and I always fancy our chances of getting something from every game, though I would never bet on it (even Man U away with Webb officiating!) doesn't mean owt, before the game, but going there and doing it does.

Actually you didn't beat any of the top 4 last season bar Arsenal, in contrast you did well against Birmingham and Blackburn etc.

Having had discussions with PNP we have both agreed that it would be best if I refrain from posting on the Spurs board for a while so I look forward to debating with you in the future <ok>

Which one of you do you think gets more complaints, Ensil?
Stop acting like a twat.

I meant between Ensil and District Line actually, OODB.
You don't get any complaints posted about you.
People just tell you that you depress them! <laugh>
