The Chavs are not exactly on Levy's Christmas card list. I would also lean towards believing that if Levy has been contacted again, he has quoted an exorbitant, cash only, take it or leave it price. Which would also go some way to explaining Redknapp's comments this morning. i.e. put up, or shut up - and make your mind up quickly.
Modric will leave on 31st for around £30million with Sturridge on loan and possibly Benayoun. Gonna be like Berbatov in 2008 I reckon.
I took it to mean, "I don't know how much we're prepared to bid", or, "I don't know if we can put together an acceptable deal", Ensil.
Quite possibly. I found Redknapp's comments this morning more than a bit puzzling, and unhelpful. However, if he is aware that Levy has quoted the Chavs a "take it or leave it" price. It would explain why he wants it resolved quickly - one way, or the other. He should still have kept his mouth shut, by the way, IMO.
Levy would lose all cred in the football world and would look a complete muppet if he sold to Chelsea
I can't totally disagree. However, I believe that there is an "offer you can't refuse" price; and if The Chavs were willing to pay it, then Levy could probably escape with his Cred intact, by claiming exactly that.
Mine too. Funnily I was saying £35mill a few weeks ago. His value seems to have gone up without playing any football
£100+mill if he's prepared to carry on playing for us. If he's not, I wouldn't like us to sell for less than 40 and a player.
Read what the question was you pleb. While we're at it, on what World is Torres worth 50mill? He couldn't finish a breath mint.
Don't cry If you knew anything about football you would know that the valuation of strikers has always been higher than any other position on the pitch. It doesn't matter what he is worth to us it matters what he is worth to Liverpool, and for Liverpool there is no doubt whatsoever he was worth £50m, he was their best player by a mile and the only decent striker they had, unless you call N'Gog decent. Considering how poor your strikers are it seems odd you would criticise one of ours, even Anelka and Kalou are probably better than any striker at Spurs.
In a world where Torres is worth 50m to score 1 goal, and where Jordan flipping Henderson is worth 20m
You're dumb and you're boring. I expect you to be banned from our board very soon. Regardless, you're ignored. Goodbye
Torres, whom I have to admit, I had always rated, has yet to prove that he's worth anywhere near what you paid for him. As for Anelka and Kalou being better, Anelka WAS - past his sell by now, though. I'd take Defoe over Kalou, anyday. I've Never rated Kalou - can't see why you rate him
Even if he had scored 15 goals by now it still wouldn't justify his pricetag, as someone that watches Chelsea week in week out I believe the improvements he has made are noticeable. Anelka may be past it, but he is way better than any other Spurs striker at the moment. Kalou doesn't get the goals he can or should because he is played out of position. The last time Kalou played as a CF - which is his best position - he netted a hattrick vs Atletico Madrid
hmmm... interesting point, a member of the WC squad that struggles to get a game and a member of a Pool squad that missed out on the top four two seasons ago, and on Europe altogether last season (although they ran it fairly close once he left?) But still, if Henderson is worth 20m having done f'all, then Modric has got to be at least double that, surely?
