Hopefully it's a loan with a view to buy type of deal.

I can't see Northampton Town having much spare cash to buy him.
Justin Edinburgh is their Manager, I think, and he's clearly using the contacts he made when he was at Newport.
We should have periodic fire sales of players who are clearly just making up the numbers. Let them go cheaply to lower league sides.
Remembering where we came from is a beneficial exercise I think.

Trouble with the PL is that they buy up all of the potential, stick them in their reserves/academies or just farm them out and this killing their development.

Chelsea are the prime example. They'll probably have the best part of 40 players out on loan this year.

Chelsea are serial abusers of the system. It should be modified.

Like I say , you can believe an article written or copied from somewhere by journalists not really knowing anything about the club or believe what actually happened taff . Davies already played 3 games when Tiendalli was brought in . He was brought in to make sure we had a 2nd LB in case of injury . Davies never got injured or gave no reason to sit him in favor of Tiendalli then Tiendalli was used on spot duty at other positions . I'm not sure if he ever played a game at LB .Tiendalli was brought in to replace Taylor because Taylor was the guy injured , certainly doesn't mean he was brought in to make him #1 at the position , only that if another injury took place he was ready to go .

Ben came off the bench against Sunderland when Taylor fractured his leg. As Max would say "I know, coz I was there"

The next match was against Villa, 2 weeks later - Tiendalli was signed on 10 September.

I know what actually happened - you are attempting to re-write history.

Davies came on for Taylor when Taylor fractured his leg against West Ham on Aug 25 . Then he played against Barnsley in the League Cup on August 28th .THEN he played against Sunderland on Sept 1 . Then Laudrup had 2 weeks to work with Davies to fine tune him . Tiendalli signed Sept 10 as defensive cover ,on a free transfer , at RB and LB . Afraid I'm not the one trying to re write history taff . Laudrup was long known for giving young up and commers a good chance , even when he managed at Demark . The biggest thing I miss about Laudrup his players played their hearts out for him , the only one that comes close to getting players motivated like that was Martinez IMO. Edit , Sorry Taff , It said in Ben Davies's wiki that he came on for Taylor at West Ham . I cross checked it and it was Sunderland

Rodgers was a great motivator.

Well I am glad we sorted that out <cheers>

It was known Gylfi was leaving at the end of last season but as usual we leave things until the last minute to do any proper business while players good enough get snapped up by more sensible clubs early. We never learn and never will as long as Jenkins calls the shots, It is much too late to do good business now as everyone knows and will up their price knowing we are desperate for a bit of quality......We are left with the over priced dregs like we are every season.....Well played again Jenkins...
