Which is backed up by the amount of fans travelling in to Leeds for home matches.
I've been travelling over since 1980 and the amount of Irish, Scandinavians, Scots, Welsh, never mind all the branches of supporters around Great Britain that I've met over the years who travel over. up or down to ER is unbelievable. But I don't want to get into an us v the locals debate because I've also met a lot of deadly mates from Leeds itself. Personally I don't care who goes or where our support comes from, we're all in it together.<ok>

Out of fairness I read your post through and, although it's well constructed, it's badly informed and full of speculative fantasy

I won't bother going through it blow by blow as it's mainly typical 'Sky Sports opinions' from watching too much TV.

But I've highlighted the most ridiculous bit ....

"..... the thing that struck me the most when hearing Mackems talk was how they felt it was Sunderland's right to be in the Prem, their right to be splashing the cash on big name signings, their right to be above the Geordies."

... if you can bump posts , from Sunderland supporters on here, claiming we have the right to be in the Prem, splashing big money or above Newcastle then I'll happily admit I'm wrong. In reality I think you've invented it to back up what you think is an argument.

As for 'a full house, fired up and hostile, roaring the team to a 3-0 win ...
.... where did the Leeds supporters go so badly wrong against Preston and Fulham <laugh>

And why did the 3000 'loyal Leeds supporters' lose faith so quickly and not return for the 2nd match ......

Smug, once again you blindly attack ... you know nothing about me or my insights ... I have simply stated facts, and also the impression your club has given me ... it was well known that Sunderland were seen as a walking 3 points in the Prem last season by all clubs ... your support abandoned the team, the atmosphere in your stadium became toxic very quickly and your fate was sealed last August ... now, snipe away if you must, but it would be much better if you actually discussed the problems at Sunderland and what your fans can do to help the club turn things around

Is the Leeds Utd and Makem love in over.........;)

I must admit I have always found the low level of Leeds support to be strange. Fans from all over the world, but home gates are poor for a city with a population approaching 800,000 and only a one club city.

Many wont like to hear the truth but whilst we were in the Prem we were getting massive crowds. We had a lot of corporate boxes..... when we went down we had the real core of Leeds fans especially in League 1 but once they saw what Bates was doing they dropped off further. The longer it went on the more kids we lost to prem teams. We then had more shyte with GFH then Cellino seeing our best academy kids sold. No investment, a run down tired stadium, an academy in bits with most ofbthe buildings closed down & mothballed. No education, medical or housekeeping staff.

Radz takes over and optimism returns. Fans are coming back again expectant, but once we look like promotion candidates and manage it, just watch how many plastics come back out of the shadows. Glory hunting fans and watch the bigger companies want corporate boxes again.

Old Trafford has lost thousands of real fans to watch the real Man Utd, those spare seats were filled with glory hunters who have no alegance really. On European nights most of the seats are taken by people and companies who are there for a one off night who normally cant get a seast, but season ticket holders must buy European nights too so they sell their seats.

When we get back to the Prem we could ifll a 70,000 seater mainly with glory hunting plastics

But you haven't stated facts, you're just making up nonsense to support your point of view .... I doubt you even believe it yourself tbh.

Where are the facts or quotes to back up your claims, it was the thing that struck you most after all .....

"..... the thing that struck me the most when hearing Mackems talk was how they felt it was Sunderland's right to be in the Prem, their right to be splashing the cash on big name signings, their right to be above the Geordies."

I've never heard anyone talking that way, we don't even consider ourselves to be a big club if we're over 12 years old.
