So on the Sales front..

  • Arsenal and Valencia are close to agreeing a £10 million deal for Gabriel. - Glad about this one.
  • Chelsea are apparently readying a £40 million bid for Chamberlain. What I dont get about this is Chamberlain wants to leave because Wenger wont play him in his favoured position. (Midfield) Chelsea wont play him there either!! For me I think his best ever Arsenal performances have come as a WB.(I actually think it's his best position and he should embrace it)
  • Arsenal have turned down a £12 million bid for Lucas Perez. Not sure why. He did'nt play last season of course his value went down.
  • Gibbs rejected an offer from West Brom as they refused to match his 55k/pw wages

How much of this is just newspaper speculation?
 
Mustafi being linked with a shock move to Inter Milan.

Personally I think he's underwhelmed soo far considering his price tag.

If Mustafi and Gabriel are on the way out - I wonder if we will be in for Van Dijk?

Mustafi ain't going anyway. Plus the fact this is his second season will make him more mature for
PL and he seems to be more comfortable in a back 3 (cb). Too early to cash in on him

Yeah I think its highly unlikley we will sell him.

Would love us to go in for Van Dijk though - with Merts at the end of his career we need a tall powerful centreback IMO.

Agree with this, but Southampton don't look as though they want to sell him. Jonny Evans, anyone?

No **** off. Also City have apparently had a £29m bid for him turned down. What the actual **** has happened to this transfer window ? <yikes>

Wonder if we will bring anyone else in? Gabriel out, Chambers linked with a move away also, and Mertesacker set to retire next Summer.

Wondering the same... could do with a replacement recognised CB instead of having make shifts fill in's!

Yeah I'm a little fed up with all the cheapo.. Squillaci, Djourou, Silvestre etc.. type defensive signings.

Cant we just add a proven top level centreback for once?
 
Id be sorry to see Chambers go. He wasn't a good right back , but I think he is a very decent right-sided-CB in a 3-man defence. They need to be more of a RB/CB hybrid and he is exactly that.
