Swansea faced Sunderland the day after the transfer window closed.
Tiendalli, 26, has signed until the end of the season after being released by FC Twente at the end of last season, following three years at the club.
The left-back completed his medical at the Liberty today and will now join Swansea subject to Premier League and international clearance.
"I'm looking forward to working under Michael Laudrup, who is a massive name in football, and showing him what I have to offer," Tiendalli said.
"Playing in the Premier League is something I have always wanted to do - it's the best league in the world."

That does not change the fact that Tiendalli was signed to cover Taylor - but as it turned out, he had to play second fiddle to Ben.
