In a way I wouldn't be against having Meyer at right back with Aina in front of him. It might mean Grosicky dropping out, but against Wolves I agree with you, the young full back need to have some protection.

Think both fullbacks will need the help of the wingers from the word go tonight, we cant go on giving teams 20/30 mins head start, as we have done against Villa/Burton, sooner or later we will get punished for it big time, hopefully city will show up from the off tonight i'm going 1-1.

Head Coach Leonid Slutsky is expecting his side's toughest test so far when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight (KO 7.45pm).

Wolves have taken six points from their two league games so far after recording impressive victories over Middlesbrough and Derby County, but with Slutsky's Tigers having taken four points themselves the Head Coach is very much looking forward to the clash at the KCOM Stadium.

"We have a good mood after Saturday, but really I think Wolves will be the best team we have played so far," said Slutsky.

"They have a very good style of play and have many players to choose from in attacking positions. They have won their two league matches so far and they were not easy games because they were playing against Middlesbrough and Derby.

"They also haven't conceded any goals yet and this is going to be a very difficult match. It is a serious test. We played Aston Villa and that was a serious test, but that was also the first match of the season.

"This game will be a serious test of our character and of our quality. Both teams will be confident after the weekend results and looking forward to this game.

"It is important that we follow up Saturday's win with another good result and all of our home matches really are very important. We have a very serious target this season and we must look to win each home match.

"We hope our supporters will come again like they did on Saturday because they can give us a serious advantage. They are the best in the world!"

Tonight's game sees the Tigers in Tuesday night action for the first time this season, as the Championship's regular feature of a Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday schedule kicks in.

Although that is seen as one of the more difficult factors to handle in the second tier, Slutsky is confident his side can manage the workload.

"I think this is not a serious problem, it is something I am used to from Russia when we played in the Champions League," explained Slutsky.

"We have done a lot of work in pre-season to prepare for this. The condition of our players will not be a problem, it is just about preparing to face good teams with good players."

As posted on the imposter/fake MDT

I'd change it as we are probably going to need more bite in midfield. Henriksen is a great attacking outlet, but as a defensive midfielder he doesn't tackle.

    So:

    McGregor

    Aina Dawson Mazuch Hector Clark

    Bowen Clucas Meyler Grosicki

    Abel

In possession Aina/Clark push on and Bowen and Grosicki push on 3-4-3

Out of possession see above 5-4-1

Should stop Wolves over loading in attacking areas as they play 3-4-3.

I have a good feeling about tonight and about the season in general.

3-1 to us. Henriksen, Hernandez, Larsson.

Really hoping for a win but my head is saying wolves will take the three points. I think we will look dangerous on the break again win or lose and with some luck we can nick the points.

Hull City v Wolves: Slutsky looks for Tigers fans’ help against Wolves

please log in to view this image

A HEARTENING start to life back in the Championship that has yielded four points from the first two games cannot hide the fact Hull City’s squad still needs considerable strengthening to cope with the demands of the Championship.

Manager Leonid Slutsky was able to bring in free agent Seb Larsson late last week, but the Tigers’ chief still needs a minimum four or probably five new faces to be truly competitive.

This much will be brought home tonight even at this early stage, as big-spending Wolverhampton Wanderers head to the KCOM Stadium.

Hull’s coach may be new to football in this country, but he knows from juggling the demands of the Champions League and domestic football in Russia that playing twice in 72 hours usually requires a tweaking of personnel – something which, at the moment, he will find hard to do due to a lack of bodies with only Larsson, David Meyler and Adama Diomande of Saturday’s bench against Burton Albion boasting experience of the Championship.

“When I worked in CSKA we played two matches per week and then Champions League matches,” said Slutsky.

“That was normal situation. We will see (if changes are necessary against Wolves) because we look at the condition of our players after each match.

“We maybe do not have big competition in the defensive line, but in attacking positions we have players who deserve to be in the starting XI.

” Wolves, who have scored back-to-back victories over Middlesbrough and Derby County, underwent an overhaul during the summer as new coach Nuno Espirito Santo smashed the club’s record signing by bringing in Ruben Neves from Porto for £15.8m.

“Wolves are a serious team, with a serious coach and a lot of foreign players,” said Slutsky, whose side followed the opening day draw at Aston Villa by thrashing Burton Albion 4-1. “They are one of the favourites in the league. It will be a very interesting match so I say to supporters they should come along and help us.”

No it won't. It will say nothing. IT would mean we won one game, drew one game or lost one game against a team that won two games before us. Teams have lost at this stage of the season against a team like this and still gone up on numerous occasions. If we don't go up, we would never say it was obvious because we lost against Wolves. If we go up, we would never say it was because we solely beat wolves. One game at a time. Don't get ahead of yourself. Thank god the team don't think like this.

    That's not what he said.

He said this will be a good indicator of how we stack up against what looks to be one of the best teams in the league.

And it will. Not the be all and end all, obviously, but it should still tell us more than we learned on Saturday.

Bless Leonid. He thinks I am in the 'best in the world' category and I haven't even been to a match this season. I do like him but dislike that twat more.

The reality is we have yet another manager who has to try and talk the supporters into attending. What a sorry state of affairs.

This could be a completely open goal fest. Wolves don't really sit back, even away from home, and are likely to go for it with their attacking options. Our defense isn't our strongest asset and I think we'll go for it too.

Could be a 4-3 thriller but I'm going for a spanking 0-4 to Wolves.

Disclaimer: I'm awful as predicting results and always get it wrong therefor I'm going to use reverse predictology all season. I may even put a bet on Wolves as I'm even ****ter at betting than predicting!!!

You of cause are right, but what I was meaning that against Wolves I would prefer Bowen on the left and Meyler at RB with Aina ahead of him. Bowen tracks back much better than Grosicki does.

If you're outside the UK, apparently you can pay a fiver for a stream from the Wolves OWS (it must only be visible to people outside the UK, as I just looked and it only offer audio commentary for £45 a season).
