I'm not going to mock them for that as it is just another ****ty footballer sticking his fingers up at their club. He signed a 5 year contract at the end of 2016/January 2017(?) worth allegedly £150,000 a week. While I can appreciate the opportunity to play for Barcelona does not come along too often (something Rose cannot claim as mitigating circumstances) then why sign a 5 year contract if you know you are going to turn your back on it by refusing to play at the first hint of a move away? No respect for fans or clubs in the modern game.
I suspect that a lot of the players probably have some sympathy for the money issue, but not how he went about it. They've been backing the club and playing regularly. He's been out and then undermines the whole thing with this? Can't see that going down well with a lot of people, especially the fringe players that he basically wrote off.
**** me...didn't realise the greedy **** was spineless too! The Scum was reporting he got a "heroes welcome" in the dressing yesterday from the rest of the squad...Don't know what's worse, his greed or the stench of their bullshit
Somebody seems to have missed the word "clinic" from my previous post and thought I was asking for their worthless opinion...
Best public reaction. Doesn't commit us to any action and doesn't devalue the player. Edit: And a bit more: Full conference will probably be up soon. I'll add it to the match thread when it's available.
So naturally the Standard weighed in by adding Chelsea to the list of clubs who can double his wages. There's no conflict of interest there, of course, as it's not as if their editor is a Chelsea fan...
...but not entirely brainless. An early apology - specifically prior to Poch's maiden conference of the season - was crucial in order to prevent this from snowballing out of control. The Sun and other rags were already busy this morning printing tripe about a queue of players planning to burgle Levy's house and steal their 'true worth' in cash. Player and manager have both said that the case is closed. It obviously isn't but hopefully we will at least get 2 weeks' respite so that we can actually focus on the season and sign some bloody players.
It reminds me of the Australian wedding that went wrong. They lost the beer and the Best Man was caught ****ing the bride. Mayhem ensued but at the last gasp when everyone thought it was game over the Groom jumped onto an empty beer crate: OK folks wedding's back on, we found the beer, yeah! oh and the Best Man has apologised.
This is Murdoch's stench all over...Promoting extreme capitalist values? Spurs being vilified for having a wage cap, generally running a tight business and not buying over priced players in spite of being demonstrably better on the pitch than most over the last 2 seasons is plain weird. Like we're some commie organisation promoting 'anti-western' values. **** them and their phone hacking, victim blaming, passive racist ****. It's been in such poor taste from Rose but Poch has handled it like a boss!
Quick! Get Simon Cowell on the phone to organise a charity single. Start the JustGiving page. Get the Chuggers out (oo-er!) for poor little Danny. Get the survivors of Grenfell to do a whip round for this poor little soul! How will he manage when he is down to his last few million? #PrayforDanny
It was exactly as reported. I am ITK, and here is what happened ... Unknown to the club, some of the players have been engaged in serious gambling. Apparently Rose told them a few days ago about The Sun interview and publication date, so they went and bet one week wages on the number of weeks wages that Rose would be subsequently fined. If you want to know which players got the number correct, look at which of them in the "welcome" are cheering most.
