In all seriousness, I can understand their supporters being pissed off at losing their best players all the time, but that's modern football.
They're not in a position to hold onto them if a bigger club takes a fancy to them, and their board should be aware that that's the only way to do business in this (admittedly bloody awful) money-go-round climate.
We paid them the going rate in the past, and we were willing to pay well over it (imo) for Van Dijk. We were dim getting caught at tapping up, but we all know it goes on all the time, so I'm not sure what the complaint is from a business point of view.
Pretty sure they all know that (or at least when they were ripe to be raped). The fact is , they have been very successful at getting replacements (just as good) with a third of they money they have made.
Now they don't need to sell cheap they are playing hardball and you will have to look elsewhere or find your own talent.

Barca got Luis for £65m after agreeing the £75m price, this after going into negotiations saying how much they 'respected ' us, then opening up a contract negotiation with his agent (Deja vu?), and then sealing it off by (correctly, as Wikileaks confirmed later) crowing that they haggled £10m off the agreed price - then we paid the agent's fees too! And in all this, because of the biting, they made out like they were doing us a favour.

And Masch was advised by them to pull out of the opening game of the season and go on strike long. long before we ever bought a player from Soton. No, I appreciate you're a bit of a bogus poster on this board, but do your ****ing homework if you're pretending to be a Liverpool fan, or just **** off to the Uniturd board and stop pretending not to be another Diego account. :emoticon-0173-middl
Thought Mito was a mod ???

I'd let Ford go for £130m tomorrow if I thought Mata would be allowed to move to us. Give you £50m for him in a heartbeat too, despite his age. But, as you somehow value Carlton Pogba at £100m and Lukheskey at £95m, that isn't going to happen.
You started off really well but then wummed <grr>

They're not being asked to sell cheap, where on earth has that idea come from? Just because the whole asylum has gone even crazier over the whole Neymar/Coutinho lunacy doesn't detract from the fact that we were prepared to pay a ridiculously high fee for a CB months ago.
I think the player's antics are ****ty, tbh - and it puts me off him to a large degree, but I can't see how trying to keep him there is going to benefit their club. I don't think they've covered themselves in glory at all. I'm not sure anyone has.

Lets not use the word rape to describe what happens.. might just offend people <ok>. More suitable less offensive words to use.

Has VVD actually dont an awful lot wrong? Club have told him to train on his own and didn't include him in the tour squad. He's not gone on strike as far as I'm aware or said he will never play for club again.

No one is going to come out of this looking good I agree, but I'm not sure VVD has done an awful lot wrong other than say he wants a move like hundreds of players do every window.

Does make me laugh that you never see players hand hand in a transfer request these days though, it's all just talk.

Maybe not in your opinion, but they are expected to sell a player for less than their valuation of him (or maybe just don't want to sell him).
If that is too much just walk away.

Oh yes. He's been a total prick (if all that we've been told is true). He has a contract and he should honour it in that he should hand in a TR, forgo any loyalty bonus, and continue to do his best for his club until such time as it no longer is his club.

I was trying to have a serious discussion, but you obviously want to continue playing silly buggers so I'll say goodnight. <ok>
