Doesn't nearly everyone, ever prefer the first Terminator film? I don't know anyone who prefers T2.

The original is way better, I agree.

Same with Alien, the sequel seems to be more popular but I think the first is way superior.

I think it's because both T1 and Alien are more like horror films whereas their sequels are much more action oriented.

It's not as overrated as ... drum roll.............

...........Clockwork Orange...........

What a sack of 'MASSIVELY' overrated pile of ****e that is!

If ever I've seen and read so many artsy fartsy critics ****ing about absolutely anything, it's this utter ****.

Just my opinion though.

Disappointed in you Kemps.

It is a film you'll either love or hate, I will say that.

It's a film we're supposed to like. It's a film critics pretend to like.

It's time we stood up and said NO!

It isn't even up there with Dirty Dancing 2.

Hmmmm...suspect this will be hard to pick 5....
I love good comedies, and some classics when growing up
Basically nothing too serious, I want to chill and laugh when watching films....

Beverley Hills Cop
Coming to America
Ted
Inbetweeners Movies
Stand By Me
Lost Boys
Predator
Rocky 4
Also like the Final Destination films..

Blade Runner
National Lampoons Animal House
Airplane
The Seven Samurai
Alien

Then a load of others, all a close call. Maybe suggest breaking down by major category as I think many are struggling to narrow to five overall? I know I was.

Not wishing to detract from the original point of the thread but as a side line( it doesn't really deserve a thread of its own) what's your 'guilty pleasure' film.

One so cheesy and embarrassing that under normal circumstances you would never admit to liking it due to the fully justified mullering you would get.

This is your chance to show how tasteless you can be and I'll start the ball rolling.

Top Gun.

Saw it twice at ABC and still love it. There, I said it. It wasn't so hard.

I have a warm and fuzzy feeling inside now.

I think the word is cathartic.

Filmwise, I can't think of one.

TV wise, in the early 90s, deffo Cell Block H. First time I saw it, I honestly was nearly physically sick - but it drew me in.

Bookwise, Harry Turtledove's WorldWar Series

National Lampoon's European Vacation
Event Horizon
Snowpiercer
The Raid
Evil Dead III

Guilty pleasure: The Iron Giant

Special mention: Alien, Terminator, Empire Strikes Back, Gremlins

The Muppets Christmas Carol with Michael Caine.
Christmas aint Christmas without it, I think someone mentioned it in their top 5 list earlier too.
