I agree that Gray and Albrighton are providers i.e. they can makes assists but no creators - they require someone else to create the opportunity for them, to make the cutting passes to them in space and all the rest. 2 seasons ago we had both Mahrez and Drinkwater doing that. Last Drinkwater was shocking and completely out of form so we relied almost solely on Mahrez to create but because team knew that, like you said he gets crowded out and loses possession. Mahrez does cut inside a lot in the friendlies but that is because he is told to - look at the movements of the forwards and they run wide trying to drag opponents out of space for him. It is really annoying that we seem to do it all the time but you can't solely blame him for team tactics. To be clear I'm not a Mahrez fanboy, I'm a Leicester fan and from what I'm seeing is that without him we have a real lack of creativity and we aren't linked with anyone with any to replace him so I hope he stays and Andy King does make sure he doesn't down tools. If we decide to **** the world and drop £50M on the likes of Siggurdson then I'll happily let the door hit his arse on the way out.
Just read we are thinking of bidding 20m for an 18yr old, Malang Sarr from Nice. Its confirmed, the world is mad.
We are being linked with Max Meyer from Schalke - finally linked with someone with creativity. We will be making a €20m bid for Malang Sarr - he has a €36m minimum fee so is a good chance that Nice will demand that for a player that is making waves but has only played one season of senior football.
Where do you get the links BigFox? I've seen the one for Malang Sarr who looks one for the future. I've not seen a link to Meyer but I actually thought we should go for him after seeing him in the U21 Euros. Looks a class act and would be a Mahrez replacement. Tottenham have been linked though so would be a coup if we managed to get him
I use http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier League/Leicester City which collates rumours from around the web. Majority of them are bollocks, like Mayer most likely is as no reputable source has said anything, but is worthy enough for a rumours thread.
Demarai Gray has held talks with Leicester this afternoon over a possible transfer away from the club, according to Sky sources. Sky Sports News understands there are a number of clubs interested in Gray, including Everton, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old winger scored twice for England at this summer's European U21 Championship. As far as Leicester are concerned, Gray is under a long-term contract and is not for sale.
Sky has stopped being a good source since they got rid of all their dedicated reporters - most likely the meeting was about him coming back to preseason after his break but will wait for more reputable sources before I get worried.
Why would he be trying to force a move away when we're the most likely club that hes going to be given a chance at. With the uncertainty of Mahrez, theres probably no way he'll be sold. Not going to play for Everton or Spurs first 11 anytime soon and he'll be back to where he was when he joined us in 15/16.
A few rumours that Chelsea are interested in Drinkwater. Yeah right!! . Chelsea fans forum are in meltdown understandably Sure there is no truth in it
The Gray story is an interesting one. Mirallas is looking to be on his way out and Walsh will know a lot about him. His pace could be the thing we are missing with Lookman possibly being given a bit of a rest in the U23's after his summer away with England
Not bad seeming we got him for £1m! Though i see him in the same position as Gray, we can't afford to lose either until we know whats happening with Mahrez. Thought he really stood out in the Hong Kong games too.
Lookman is less experienced, not used to a summer playing competitive football. The local rags in Leicester and Liverpool report the same. Could have legs
They are quoting Sky Sports who are basically just the Sun now the Aussie scrote got rid of their actual journalists - when a reputable source says something then I'll pay attention.
I didn't read more than the headlines and don't read / watch the sky rubbish. Walsh does like the lad so who knows. He didn't get enough game time last year. So maybe the promise of more games will make his mind up
He has already been assured of more game time with us. Big season for him at Leicester ahead. Needs to knuckle down and show what he can do
According to The Mirror Mahrez is trying to force through the move to Roma. If that's the same force he shows on the pitch then he could be here for some considerable time yet!
