Who Will Flop?

  • Lacazette

  • Lukaku

  • Morata

When you look at what befell Torres and Owen, you start to understand why, when the physio thinks he's ready to play, Sturridge takes personal charge and remains out.

A lot of pressure on Lakaku to perform in big games.

We shall see how he gets on.

Surprisingly, most of you have predicted that Lukaku will be the biggest flop of the coming season.

Glutton for punishment. <ok>

Not to mention HIAG's 'Sissoko wasn't a big money signing' despite being Spurs' record signing **** up.

Two major **** ups on page 1. You could say that this thread was an instant flop <rofl>

Defoe and Carrick, bought from us after we were relegated and immediate promotion was out of the window, and the combined fee was less than half that paid by Chelsea for Lampard 2 years earlier, so they were hardly big signings as Chelsea had already bought the cream of the team. I'll give you Berbatov & Modric, though as soon as they actually started performing they were off.

Didn't realise that Lampard cost £20m.
My memory (not the most reliable) is Defoe cost £7m (including cash and Zamora) and Carrick £3m.

I hope all of City's signings flop...except Walker (like him so don't want him to humiliate himself).
If pep wins anything he'll be lauded as a great manager and the £370m he has spent in 13 months won't be mentioned.
Heard someone on talksport yesterday (Ray Houghton?) saying you can not judge him on last season as it weren't his team...the ****er spent £170m and it weren't his team? **** right off.
I know people accuse the chelsea and Unitedof buying success but I have NEVER seen any one spend like this...A THIRD OF A BILLION IN A YEAR!
I hope Pep makes a right **** of himself
....annnnnd breathe

Pep the messiah.

I suppose if he has a similar season to last, he will be saying that if
the owners had given him two fishes and five loaves to use on
transfer/wage fees, he would have built a squad to crush the PL and
Barca/Madrid/Munich.

Completely agree with this.
Said from Day one that Pep was overrated.
Was handed the two best club sides in the world....twice, and people were surprised he won a lot! <doh>
Now he moves to Man City, not the Best side in the world, spends £370m and has so far won **** all.
He will win something eventually, anyone would if they were given limitless transfer funds to build the best team.

But even having spent lots of money, the best managers would win the league in their first season *cough*.

Good to see you finally admit that Chelsea only got success because they were handed a bucket load of cash :)

The acid test for him would be to manage a club like Spurs or Everton
and perform as well as / better than Pochettino in the PL. For example,
can he mentally brain-dump all the Barca training processes into the
Citeh senior / academy setups and get a similar level of technical
competence from all the players.
