Ehab wanted rid of him, in his eye's Tom was too close to the SB era at city and a senior pro in the dressing room too much of a threat , that alone would have been reason to get rid at the first opportunity.
Good post; it's a POV that has merit, but I doubt Ehab is so deep in his thinking.
I expect when the Ehab appointed Slutsky he though we would be loaning 11 players from Chelsea and they would all be free because of the friendship the manager has and that they can all play.

He certainly never overpaid for Maguire but a lot of people said he did for Livermore and everyone wanted rid of him after his problems.
We paid over the odds for Mason according to most, too many fans just moan for the sake of it.
My opinion is nobody should have been sold in January if Silva wasn't going to remain in charge this season. He sanctioned the sale of Livermore and Snodgrass because of the role they would have under him, then he ****s off at the end of the season anyway.
I hate the Allams but i don't think everything is down to them. Most players don't give a **** these days apart from money. Stupid transfer fees been paid for average players and totally obscene wages.
I've said it before football is slowly killing itself, how anyone can think a goalkeeper is now worth 30mil and players earning 250k a week is good for the game amazes me.
Davies was not good enough for the premier league, and becoming injury prone but was worth more than the 500k we got for him.
Maguire was always going to go to further his career, probably the same with Robbo but he is most definitely not a top 6 player.
I'm sitting tight hoping that the players needed will be coming in, if they don't then we are truly ****ed and will be playing to crowds of less than 10k for sure.

That's what i said. But he shouldn't have had the power to sanction them IF he had no intention of staying.

its a good point but then we don't know if the owners wanted some cash to pay for loans who will not of been cheap.
We have quite a few midfielders, so it's not the end of the world. We desperately need defenders and in my opinion at least 1 or 2 quality strikers. As the friendly yesterday highlighted - we don't take our chances. Leonid put it down to conditioning
