Joining the party late, Mawson i think is a decent prospect. Looks like he's quite good and physical but clumsy on the ball (not that i've seen him live much at all). However, you're better off keeping him to develop him than pawning him off. In this crazy market, you should be able to fetch 20m at least. Just think, Michael Keane has just gone for 25m rising to 30m and he was in his final year of his contract. James ****ing Tomkins who's been useless for ages, was 27 and moved to palace for 10m before these crazy prices last year. John Stones he is even worse defensively went for 50m. Moreno who has barely kick a ball in a year and was a liability for liverpool isn't moving for at least 15m. That's just the way the market is. As for Abrahams, from the sounds of it he smashed it last year for Bristol. He is a big gamble for you guys though but i can't see us sending you to him without promises that he will get plenty of game time as a 2nd striker or in a partnership with llorente. Whether you can afford to do that i don't know but judging from how HJ operates, he'd prefer that than buying a big named striker for a lot of money, or signing someone with high wages. You've never bought big on a striker (bony yes, borja yes) so i think rather than getting his hands burnt, he'd rather risk it on someone cheap and cheerful like Tammy
I feel sad to see Amat go. He's not the worst player to ever have worn the shirt. He is just about the last link to Michael Laudrup, apart that is, from the alimony payments that Jenkins sends him.
Season after season, transfer fees become more obscene. It's just like monopoly money. None of the Club's earn the monies that Sky, etc., simply hand over, so it's money that has no real value to them. Consequently, it's easy to throw it around, just like drunken sailors. Eventually, it will all end in tears. Already cracks are beginning to show, with many football fans' watching 'live' matches via rogue appliances.
That small - there's another with Llorente - not so big next to him ..... as the actress said to the bishop....
Still nothing confirmed, why does it seem to take us ages to sign anyone or is it just me. Just seems thi has been going on and on. Maybe that's the way now. I saw that kodi boxes accounts for an awful lot of live football watched. Sky and Bt saw their audience figures for football fall last year for the first time. I wonder though on a Saturday, fans want to watch their own team. Does any one think that we will get the stage where all games will be shown live or will that not happen, I just wonder as they are shown in every other country other than ours and would it affect Pl attendances. Just a thought.
A continued reduction in audience figures will ultimately mean far less revenue for Sky and Bt. Clubs' will consequently receive less money. Existing contracts will have to be honoured and then the s+++ hits the fan. The end game. Live Saturday afternoon matches will doubtless affect attendances, which is why it is not allowed here.
please log in to view this image I see he is home and wearing the number 9 lets hope that is a good sign.
You sure that's Mesa's brother with the great Makele and not some rugby player from the Ospreys Taff? He's huge.
Do you think it would affect attendances, I suppose it will for some, but I thought loads of clubs had waiting lists for ST and they can still watch them live now, but without paying for them, maybe it would be worth showing them live on a pay per view.
The authorities clearly feel attendances would be seriously affected hence their decision not to allow it.
I agree, was just thinking aloud and wonder whether there would be money to be made by showing them on pay per view. I could see affecting away fans attendance. But, as you say it will never happen.
I think Sky and BT will have to do something like that TLF coz people want to watch their teams, not just the top 4 plus Liverpool, and who ever they happen to be playing. As soon as Sky and BT realize that football may well be the national pass time the interest and desire is tribal and people want to see their team each week, not someone elses. When they get that, I'll subscribe. Also, I cant help feel Sky is just a rip off. I wanted to subscribe for a month to watch the Lions and sum arrogant customer services person told me I had to pay for three months or go down the pub. Told her I wouldn't bother going to the pub and I'd be streaming it instead.
