Why let something that doesn't exist bother you so much? I've never seen Extra terrestrial life, I believe they exist hence my interest in them. I don't believe Lizard people exist, hence my lack of interest in them.

It's good you're trying to empathise, but your general confusion and need for a dictionary is probably the wrong focus.
