The OP implied that Lee Dixon wanted Modric to go to Chelsea in order to weaken Spurs and boost Arsenals chances of 4th, which I believe is wrong for many reasons:

1. Lee Dixon is a Man City fan - City is his love first and foremost, if he had his own agenda (which I don't feel he does) why would he want to see a title rival in Chelsea strengthened? <doh>

2. Liverpool would be the team most affected - With or without Modric, Liverpool will finish higher than Spurs, that is without question, surely if Arsenal were weakened, it would be Liverpool with the best chance of getting 4th and them back in the box seat for CL Football and title contention. That wouldn't be good for either Arsenal or Manchester City <ok>

One of the MOTD editors is actually a Spurs fan (it was announced by Lineker a few years ago) so it seems rather ironic there is this paranoid notion that everybody at the Beeb somehow wants Chelsea to succeed when evidence has suggested otherwise. <ok>

To imply that he doesn't have any bias towards them is ridiculous.

2. You're not psychic, so any ludicrous suggestions about what 'will' happen are both pointless and idiotic.

Nobody on this article has suggested that there's a BBC agenda in favour of Chelsea.
Now who's paranoid?

Equally he supported City as a Boy and so much as sat in the Kop end at Anfield with his City scarf covered to go and see them play. It doesn't matter where you are or who you've played for there will always be one club closer to your heart more than any other.

I can guarantee you if you played 600 games for lets say Fulham, Spurs would still be closer to your heart.

For that reason Redknapp will always love West Ham more than Spurs, Crouch will always love Chelsea more than Spurs. Torres will always love Atletico Madrid more than Liverpool or Chelsea, the list goes on... <ok>

I'm not psychic you are right but most neutrals accept that that City, United and Chelsea will make up the top 3 (in any specific order) whilst Liverpool and Arsenal fight for the 4th position and every position 6th and below is open with Spurs being the large favourites ahead of Everton, Sunderland and Villa etc to getting that European spot <ok>
 
Jamie Carragher was a boyhood Everton fan.
Redknapp was an Arsenal fan.
Peter Crouch is a QPR fan.

I really don't care what most neutrals think, either.
They didn't expect us to get 4th when we did (neither did I), they didn't expect Liverpool to go from 2nd to 7th and they didn't predict West Ham's relegation.

You didn't say 'most neutrals believe', anyway.
You said that Liverpool would finish above Spurs 'without question'.

Can you please stop disrupting threads on here with your paranoid ramblings now?
 
I love how Spurs are the only team in the top 6 who have a settled squad and manager for the last 2 years and yet still everyone has written us off before we've played a game.

Chelsea have a new manager who is completely untested and hardly impressed against Stoke.
Liverpool have a number of new unsettled players, none of whom are used to being near the top of the table, and an overrated manager.
City may have demolished Swansea but there are bound to be a few problems when their egos begin to clash in about a weeks time.
Arsenal have lost their key player and looking at losing another one, although I think they'll probably be better than many are expecting them to be.

United are the only team that anyone can realistically have any confidence in this season, everyone else is completely unpredictable.
