We didn't publicise it, you did. No Chelsea affiliate ever came out and said it had been rejected, it was Levy, as far as I know Completely untrue as well, just the other day Martin Jol (ex-Spurs surprise surprise) came out and revealed that the bid for Cameron Jerome had been rejected and even announced if and when they would be making another bid. Your manager has often come out and spoke out about bids for other players in an attempt to unsettle them, Phil Neville, Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam are recent examples. Chelsea never have nor ever will like conducting their business in public which is why your claims surprise me. It's a well known fact Russians are secretive when it comes to public issues hence why most of our dealings are done under the radar.
Why would Spurs leak the failed bid, DL? That doesn't make any sense, does it? Redknapp talked about a failed bid for Charlie Adam after the transfer window had closed. Why would he be trying to unsettle him then? Liverpool had already done that, anyway. The talk about an agreement came from Modric's mouth and even if it's true, it still doesn't suggest that Levy did anything wrong. The offer wasn't acceptable to Spurs, so it didn't fulfil part of the agreement.
That doesn't directly link us with anything illegal. If that were the case then I'm sure your manager would have been charged for a similar incident. There was proof that tapping up was involved with Ashley Cole, none with Modric. There is as much proof of Spurs tapping up Robbie Keane, Stewart Downing and Ashley Young than there is of us doing the same with Modric
Spurs publicise everything they do, whether it being not being able to find a hotel in Edinburgh or whether it be about closing in on other teams players. Redknapp has always conducted his deals in public, we choose not to, there would be no reason for us to leak the failed bid either. As I said, I am on your side with this but I don't see why Chelsea are being blamed.
Redknapp publicises a lot of stuff, but he always does it extremely blatantly. He didn't put his name to this, so there's no reason to believe that it was him. Chelsea had no reason to leak a bid? Yes, you clearly did. If the bid hadn't leaked, then Modric couldn't have talked publicly about any interest from the club, as he shouldn't have known about it.
Frank Arnesen was shown to be tapping up a Boro youth team player on Panorama five years ago and there have been many, many other accusations. You also tapped up Arnesen, ironically.
Like I say, a poor WUM. I don't know why you guys are still trying to put him straight, the guy is being intentionally obtuse.
