You do realise that Everton have a few bob too now and an owner that is very ambitious.
They are building a brand new stadium not just adding a few seats.
Why didn't you manage to hold onto Kante (your most important player), do you think you will hold onto Mahrez (your current top class player) with Arsenal sniffing around.
Things need to happen on the pitch, not behind the scenes, you had a great chance to try and attract players when you won the league and qualified for the CL, instead of strengthening you sold Kante and weakened the team.
Spurs have a plan, it's taken a fair bit longer than 10 years but it's working very well, Southampton have a plan which also works very well (managers come and go but the style of the team remains the same and the quality of player increases year on year) they will get there eventually.
Your plan seems to be We have loads of money, we want to be good, City and Chelsea did it so we will.
As Chelsea Pensioner tried to explain to you, it takes a lot, lot more than that.

Nope not at all, I've mentioned that Everton like City, Arsenal and us, also have no debt so I recognise them as being one of the eight, very much so. Southampton nope, they're not bothered they just sell everyone so no way am I buying that they have serious ambitions of being regular top four.

One thing our owners have had is a taste and they want more but as I said to Pensioner, we won't chuck money at it like City and Chelsea because we have a plan which is to buy quality players and make them better than the sum of their parts because of our team spirit and style of play. This is how we've achieved success so far and this is what we wil do to achieve it in the future. We'll most probably have four 20 year olds in our starting line up next season with Chilwell, Gray, Ndidi and Ilheanacho (fingers crossed) and this will be the future of the team. They've invested heavily in our youth academy and they're not looking to spend spend spend, they're looking to spend and nurture.

They also tripled Koeman's wages to make him one of the highest paid managers in the world.

I've not once said you don't have money though have I and I've said you'll be one of the eight along with us. You lot just aren't accepting us into your little clique and some of us are too scared to be there by the sounds of it. Not cool enough to be with the big kids because we're only Leicester.

Excuse me but didn't Kante **** off to Chelsea last season and isn't Mahrez being heavily linked with Arsenal?
Also we have become debt free in the last year.

And I fully agreed with him and gave reasons for optimism. He's also being positive and while saying how hard it is, also wishing well and not laughing at the idea, which is disrespectful at the end of the day because there's no reason whatsoever for us not to be successful.

I know 100% that clubs below Everton don't have the money or ambition to break into that elite group. West Ham you could say might have the ambition of qualifying for Europe but certainly no higher than 7th and they'd be delighted with that. But West Ham are just too poorly run to acheive sustained success so they'll float around top 10 with the others. Anyone suggesting the likes of Palace, Stoke, Southampton or WBA etc have genuine ambition to achieve that is living in la la land. How many of them are extending their stadiums? None of them are so don't be making out that everyone has the same ambition because they don't, not at all. They're all in debt as well, only City, Arsenal us and now Everton have no debt so we're automatically in a far better position to achieve and spend than everyone else. This is why we can pay over £100k/week when Everton were paying Lukaku £90k.

We are aiming for CL next season, how many clubs outside the top 7 will be "genuinely" aiming for CL? Fact is none of them. We'll see at the end of this window but I fully expect our transfer activity to match our ambitions and it will be reflected by how much more money we spend than the rest of the clubs you reckon hope to finish top four or at least six.
Got to be honest with you mate, extending the stadium means absolutely **** all, it's what you do on the grass bit in the middle that counts and that depends on the quality of playing and managerial staff you have.
I would hope that a fair few teams outside the top 7 were genuinely aiming for CL, were you aiming for it the season after you were nearly relegated?
When you have been a top half team for 4 or 5 consecutive years then you can start thinking you can make top 6/7 consistently.
After that you can start to hope you will be quite regular in the CL.
Being nearly relegated then winning the league then finishing in the bottom half does not look like a very good plan, it just looks like you had one miraculous season where a very good manager hit on a system that worked and had very few injuries.

Not many players of Maguire quality will be needed for this CL push next season

Yeah. **** FFP rules.

Or is FFP the reason they couldn't afford
Keane?

Yeah he did and yeah he is by that's two players from our title winning team, one was replaced by Ndidi who at 20 is a far better player than Kante, hat was he doing at 20? Well you won't know but he wasn't doing much at all. Ndidi was playing in the EL with Genk and CL with us. We don't miss him, we did until we signed Ndidi but not now.

Mahrez was our worst player last sesdon by some distance so we won't be missing him either. Liverpool wanted Chilwell, we refused to sell and he signed a new five year deal. Arsenal wanted Vardy but he signed a new deal too. Everton wanted Kasper but he's not for sale. They want Gray too apparently and he's also not for sale. Southampton would have sold the lot.

You do a great job rebuilding every time so hats off for that but you're not going to have any success while you do what you do, you need to keep the team together for more than q season and pay top wages to keep your players. You do neither. Realistically do your owners have ambitions of being a regular top four club and have they had plans drawn up for a 42k, 60k and 72k stadiums? Are they unhappy that the changing rooms aren't up to CL spec and planning to do something about it?

<laugh>

Not even made a bid. They don't meet the requirements for a big club signing<ok>

FFP rules? Why would that come into it when we receive far more money than we pay out? Title winning season our team cost £23m having invested very little of the £70m or so we got for staying up first season. Then we got £95m when we won the league and sold Kante for £32m and spent £83m. Last season we got £115m plus £75m from the CL so over the last three seasons we've spent £111m since promotion, including Maguire and received £387m.

Why the fook do we have to worry about FFP when that's not even including gate receipts and merchandising?

Have you not noticed that Leicester are now above Everton in the rich list?

Well that's okay then. Good job as you have highlighted spend doesn't really matter <laugh>

All that money and they buy Maguire to push for CL.

At least he will keep the wage bill in check as nobody would pay him more than a few grand a week.

Didn't bother making s bid because Walsh knew there was no point. Nobody would leave Leicester for Everton and that's a reality.

Except Keane who rejected the, for a move to a proper club. All that aCL money and the waste £17m on a relegation form player.

And you were debt free from December so only have this season's money to spend plus Lukaku's money, we've been debt free since the Championship so we can afford to spend the money no problem.
