I think anything that will happen this transfer window can be classed as soon/imminent.
Whys that? he is still an ok player, he might want to play, wasn't Everton his first club and who he supported? and he's getting dicked around by Man U. I don't find it suprising at all.

If everything is soon how do you distinguish something happening tomorrow from something happening in a month?

It looks like Rooney will be an Everton player next season,, will it be this week, will it be next week, will it be six weeks, does anyone give a ****?
Because the reason for my first response was that I was surprised if it was happening in the next few days given that would be a pretty bloody quick U-turn from talk he was looking to trigger another year with United. If it's likely to happen but still some way off that makes more sense.
