The Allams are the businessman equivalent of watching a train wreck on Groundhog Day. They induce feelings ranging from bewilderment to frustration, shock, anger and bile inducement.

The old man must have some business savvy about him because Ehaw could never build up a business like Allan Marine.

Players develop at different rates, look at Clucas, written off completely a few years ago. Tymon being around the England St. George's set up will only help him. Good luck to the lad, I don't think he'll fade away, the system is different now.

Yes I am in control but my enthusiasm has been drained.
Football should be for enjoyment not for some pricks on massive ego trips.
He owns the club I've supported since I was 10 and I can't stand the arrogant little ****ing bastard.
He ain't getting anymore of my cash.
It's that simple really.
He'll NEVER own the club, he owns the business, and (short of a ban) the **** will never stop me attending, ever.

Most.

Every single person who pays a penny into their empire supports them and justifies every action they take. That is still the vast majority of our fan base.

Some might grumble, and they might grumble loudly, but they still support their continued association with our club. They haven't had enough until they've had enough.
I don't, they'll get **** all from me.

Football clubs are not that anymore.

The danger with this is that by taking the obvious answer that we COULD be letting a player and his agent pull the wool over our eyes and get off scot-free from the real situation of them just bailing out for more money.

As stated, there’s a piss easy narrative here for the public to swallow, with the added bonus (that the likes of say Snodgrass didn’t have) that because he’s local, there are various ways this message can spread from friends/relatives as if it’s organic heartfelt inside info.

It could be that even the player/family too have been hoodwinked by the agent – who knows? The agent would know that there’s more money to be had in a move elsewhere and I would imagine he’d be an expert in cultivating such division with the Allams for x to become y.

Further, as stated, I’m only speculating – like all/most of us are. I have no time for the Allams at all but I resent the possibility of being bullshitted to, just to excuse the making of more coin for various parties.

Southampton seem to manage tying players to contracts then obtain really good transfers.

Chazz would I be right in thinking you don't like agents?

Who does?

They manipulate situations such as this in order to leech absurd amounts of money out of player sales in reward for doing the sum total of **** all work.

I bet a good quarter of that multi billion pound premier league TV deal ends up in the hands of a select few agents. Some will pocket more money than any player or manager in the league.

They should be a novelty for players who can't be arsed with the hassle of sorting these things out for themselves. They should be employed by players and paid only by players. Their income should be closely regulated and payments from any single source should be capped at a sensible amount.

Probably impossible measures to implement now as they surely own more money than Richard Branson and have more power than the prime minister, but something needs doing. They are a plague.

Footballers who choose to employ them without any obligation?

and they then give a cut to dodgy ****ing managers like redknapp.

Wasnt it Gary Neville who said young kids just need a solicitor and a senior pro going in with them to make sure the club does right by them?
Dawson would have done a great job with that role.

Indeed, yet people keep blaming the agents. If professional footballers didn't employ them then the role would die out from the game. FACT.

I guess there's an issue of player's intelligence in general with them being unable to legally sort their own contracts.

I think we would all prefer a game without player's agents leeching money from football.
