Newspaper bollox. 2 things mainly.

Price. Hes gonna cost at least 120m.
CL. He's not playing in the Europa league in a world cup year.

Hottest property in Europe. He'll end up at Real or stay put for one more season.

Laccazette is an achievable target with giroud going the other way.

Probably right. Don't know why we're not going after Aubemeyang if he's available.

I'd be happy with Lacazette and Lemar though.

ARSENAL are preparing a £21million bid for Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to reports.

22 years old, 6'2 powerful box to box midfielder. Looks a great prospect and the kind of player that we need. However I cant help but think this rumour has started just because he's having a good Confederations Cup with Germany. Still could be a good signing.

Please. There's only one reason they went to a non-CL club and we all know what it was :emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:

The PL is awash with money now and any of the top 6 clubs can buy players worth over £40m+ and offer large pay packets. Any advantage we had over some clubs has been minimised. We should have gone for it 4-5 years ago but were too risk averse. I'm not even sure we'll get a top CF this window with all the competition nowadays. I'd even question Wenger's allure to attract players after so many ordinary/poor seasons in the CL and PL.

Bad planning and loath to take any risks has set us back.

There are very few clubs who could afford Pogba AND his wages and remain within FFP.

Huge rumours from every media source that we are really close to getting lacazette. Apparently we're in talks with Lyon.

Thoughts?

Think it would be a very good signing. 37 goals last Season, he's quick and a proper poacher. Just coming into his best years as a striker.

The rumours are Wenger is still after Mbappe and Lemar as well.

We are after all 3 and of course we will end up with 0

Seems that our buying business is all done as we aren't linked to anyone! We got a defender on a free and a striker no one has heard of - it's par for the course for Wenger.

all that's left of this window is to see how much we sell Sanchez and Ozil and Ox for., we may recoup £100m which will make up for not being in the CL so will keep the Board and Stan very happy,

The Board and Stan is a ****

Fixed :emoticon-0148-yes:

@Stan

<whistle>

I genuinely think Mbappe will be a Suarez/Neymar/Bale calibre player. (not quite Ronaldo/Messi standard but TOP class nonetheless)

He would be a major coupe for the Club but I think it's unlikely we will beat Real Madrid to his signature. Particularly with Gazidis in charge of these things.

Still Lacazette and Lemar could be a very very good Summer if we can get those done.

I think if Madrid don't guarantee him first team football he would be willing to come to us to develop knowing if he is good enough he will get the Madrid move eventually anyway.

Wenger has a good relationship with his family supposedly.

Lyon have made an approach for Giroud.

Makes me wonder if he will be part of any Lacazette deal.

There's also rumours we have enquired about Martial. Looks like we may be getting rid of Giroud and looking to add at least two forwards.

The only way we will be getting Martial is if we do a player-for-player swap or a player + cash swap. There's absolutely no way United will sell to us otherwise. Out of all the clubs in the division, they are probably the last ones who need to sell anyway.

It's a pipe dream, but Lemar and Lacazette would be excellent business.

Lyon confirm that we are not willing to sell Giroud this Summer.

Looks like we wont land Lacazette until Lyon have signed a replacement.

David Ornstein:
Arsenal have had a bid rejected for 26-year-old French striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, but negotiations are still ongoing. However, the Gunners are less likely to sign Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar, 21, having also had a bid turned down.

Sounds about right for our club's ability at negotiating transfers.

Complete shambles and embarrassment.

Let's see what happens next. It sounds like an opening bid for Lacazette and 'ongoing negotiations' sound like we'll reach a deal

Would like to see some more positive news on the Lemar deal though.

Whether we sign them or not, our transfer negotiations are an ongoing embarrassment compared to other clubs who just get players signed like that.
