Portugal Pre-Season: Statement

Supporters considering following the Tigers to their pre-season fixtures in Portugal are advised not to book travel and accommodation until further notice.

With temperatures on the Algarve forecast to soar well above average next month, the Club is currently carrying out a medical risk assessment and considering its options for the pre-season training camp.

The Club wants to guarantee the best possible conditions to help the players and our new Head Coach to prepare for the coming season.

Any supporters who have already booked trips out to Portugal should keep their bookings as a decision will be made early next week. Those that have already booked should contact [email protected] in order for the Club to understand the impact on supporters.

It's like Burnley away January 84, but much warmer.

Portugal Pre-Season Update

After carrying out a medical risk assessment, the Tigers can confirm we will continue our pre-season trip to Portugal as originally planned.

The first team squad will return to training on Monday 3rd July to begin preparations for the 2017/18 campaign and will spend seven days on home soil before flying off to Portugal for a training camp on the Algarve.

As part of the trip to Portugal the team will play two pre-season fixtures, facing Oxford United on Saturday 15th July before lining up against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday 18th July. Both games will be played at Estadio da Nora, home of FC Ferreiras, in Albufeira with both kicking off at 6.30pm.

The squad will then head for home on Sunday 23rd July with further pre-season fixtures to be confirmed in due course.
