You'd have to think by the way he went alarmingly left at one point, that Ribchester wasn't liking that ground.
I cannot agree that Ribchester was impressive but he did assert and was clearly on top at the line.
He was done no favours by the bump from his pacemaker and continued to hang away left until Buick straightened him up and he was hardly dashing away at the end.
Fashion bit now. The girl is good but I'm maybe in the minority in that I liked that bloke on the BBC. He wasn't afraid to call a slapper a slapper.
What do you want something like Frankel? He was in complete control in the final furlong. If anything he is going away at the finish. He probably wasn't completely in love with the ground but his class has got him there in the end.

Rajasinghe may have lowly beginnings but his pedigree is pretty good. He comes from a family developed by Noel Murless. He bought a Royal cast-off called Cheetah (half-sister to Pall Mall) and bred her to his fast favourite Abernant. The result was a filly called Caerphilly who was pretty useful. As a mare she produced the very good colt St Chad (by St Paddy) who was one of the few horses to defeat the excellent Reform. His year younger sister, Caegwrle (by Crepello) gave Lady Murless a 1000G winner. Not much since but class sustains.
