Aha.! This is the problem with 'Apps'. Personally, I keep away from applications as much as possible. It's all very well if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, or some such else, but if you don't and you don't want them [hey, why should I.?] you could be handicapped. The good ol' browser method is infinitely more versatile, more universal and quicker: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08v8gxl/handmade-in-japan-series-1-1-samurai-sword
Now come along, don't be so modest. I could teach you in 30 seconds if I was sat next to you. Fran, for example, does it all the time these days. She swore blind nobody could teach her. If you remember, I did write a guide way back when. Accessible by finding a Mod's post and clicking on their signature. Have a look. Always felt I wasted hours of my time writing that. Help me change my mind. Look for 'Links'.
That was f****** incredible. I've had a reasonable idea how Samurai swords were made, but to see it actually done. All that hand sharpening as well. Two months of it. And he said he loves doing it. Crikey, the patience and attention to detail is mind blowing.
Well on a small scale, keeping all the political stuff on the politics thread would help,we now have three threads where certain posters keep saying the same things over and over written slightly differently of course. Just saying like!
That I can understand. But that's not Tom meant. It's also a little bit difficult to devote a topic to one thread that isn't political alone, not a tragedy alone. And then to have a petition thread on its own to get it noticed is almost certainly a good thing. 3 threads.
No of course it wasn't what Tom meant,I agreed with him,it used to be called jumping on the bandwagon I believe. And it doesn't need three threads with the same people banging on the same narrow minded political message.
Well said. I've made a point of avoiding the Politics Thread and despite that I am seeing the same stuff churned out on here. Basically if you start ranting about politicians or their parties it should be on the politics thread not elsewhere. If you just want to comment on news events in a non political way then here is fine. That's how I see it anyway.

This is what they let the kids do at the end of an international hockey match.... encouraging the kids
In addition to this, the players go off the pitch at the end of the game and then come back on for a warm down, after which they split into four groups and head to the touch line to sign autographs and have photos with the fans. FA/Premier League are you reading this????
A man has driven a van into a crowd of people as they exited a mosque in Finsbury Park. They were heading home after late night prayer during Ramadan.
Actually doesn't seem like that person died as a result of the attack. What a horrible, absolutely idiotic individual this must have been. It's like sticking the knife into an already wounded country. Not going to help.
So basically a van was driven into a crowd of people that were giving first aid to somebody as a revenge attack for attacks that killed holiday makers and kids. Ffs. Right, thats it, ive had enough. stop the world i'm getting off.
