This will go down well... Man whose flat started Grenfell blaze ‘packed luggage before raising alarm’ http://metro.co.uk/2017/06/15/man-w...e-before-raising-alarm-6710853/#ixzz4k4orssQo
Filmed it on his phone? At what point don't you soak a load of ****ing towels and wrap them around the fridge? And even then I'd have knocked on 20 doors and told all of them to knock on another 20 and the place is empty in 10 minutes. So tragically avoidable.
Yeah I know but if I'm there then bollocks to the advice. If I get out myself I'm defo safe, rather than the 50/50 at best of being rescued.
Looking at the blog post from Grenfell action group, they seem a particularly militant politically motivated group, their predictions are eerily far too accurate for this to be a coincidence... I'm just surprised this didn't happen a week or two weeks earlier.
I agree if you're on one of the lower floors get out while you can. But what if you're at the top and feeling relatively safe at the time - would you descend 20 odd flights of stairs ? Not knowing if the exit route was blocked and unsafe and then having the possibility of being trapped or not been able to turn around to go back up?
If I live in one of those flat blocks I'd have rope hook next to the window and a big long rope to tie onto my kitesurfing harness. I used to live in a first floor flat in a three story block and ****ing hated it. Always imagined some monghole leaving the oven on and burning the place down or gassing us all out.
Been towards the top though buys you time- if the fire can be brought under control before it reaches you. Those poor poor people weren't to know the fire was out of control.
An amazing story of Five Live today. A 15 year old girl and her father on he 13th floor managed to escape, not before the father Miguel banged on all doors on his floor to ell them to get out... more amazingly his daughter Ines, then went to school and sat her GCSE Chemistry exam as this is the area she wants to work in when she leaves school. When asked how she did, she simply replied ( a little bit robotically if I'm honest) I think I did ok... Couldn't work out where they were from, but what focus ....
And this twat wants naming... and left alone with a few people... http://metro.co.uk/2017/06/14/man-a...-taking-pictures-of-grenfell-victims-6709772/
