Not so sure on that one GLP Terry Neil was in a similar situation, he even played in the team, but seemed to do ok even going back to Arsenal to manage I think.
Crikey, the way things are going, Monk one time odds on favourite for every job going will be a Sky pundit very soon...
He's going to Boro. EDIT: Ha, I actually posted this before the confirmed news broke, but there'd been talk he was in talks with them for the past few days.
Soooooo Good appointment who is clearly happy to work with the unworkables. Good appointment which was done reasonably quickly. So far so good.
You used to go on about Bruce working with them as proof that they were obviously great to work with. It always ends badly. And there's always another foreign manager desperate for a crack at English football. As always, judge it at the end of his tenure.
No one has claimed they were good to work with. You dont need to be bessies with your boss. They did have a good working relationship for a long time. Phelan left because he wasn't good enough, not because of any issue with working for them. Quite a lot of managers leave under a cloud too, not just ours. It's not always personal, it's usually just the way it is. It did not end badly with Silva either.
Can I stake my claim now ? Slutsky out. He doesn't wave to the crowd enough. He's probably crap at interviews too and picks the wrong team/formation/ and plays boring football.
he's got my vote, in a press release to the Daily star he stated " i am very proud to become head coach of HULL CITY"
No you're too early. When he's just been appointed he's the saviour and the very appintment is PROOF that the Allams are wonderful. It's when he leaves that he was **** all along. And obviously the formation thing comes out every time we lose. Unless he picks the right one in which case we'll never lose.
Wrong angle. You need to stick with the view that he must be a **** for deciding to work for the Allams, then when he leaves it's because he couldn't work with them and was a victim.
