Midlands and Yorkshire? Labour are strong in the Midlands and Yorkshire. Looks like Soubryt is a gonner. Another moaner off the Tory benches :)

Labour were expected to lose many seats in these areas, to be gaining seats off Tories highlights how well Labour are doing, and how badly the Tories' night has been.

US is even worse (much worse, actually), in part because voter suppression is so popular. Their most-recent election was 54.7%, and turnout hasn't been above 60% since...1968.
