But Labour look set to gain some seats in Midlands and Yorkshire. Wasn't on the cards.

Labour were expected to lose many seats in these areas, to be gaining seats off Tories highlights how well Labour are doing, and how badly the Tories' night has been.
 
From 1979 to 1997 it was above 70% hitting 77.7% in 1992!!! The election after when Blair won fell to 71.3 and 4 years of Blair made it fall right down to 59.4.

So 68% turnout is on the rise again. Your sofas must be far too comfortable :) Good to see the turnouts hitting close to 70% again. USA should make a bigger point on it on MSM that is important.

US is even worse (much worse, actually), in part because voter suppression is so popular. Their most-recent election was 54.7%, and turnout hasn't been above 60% since...1968.
