I live in East Lothian in Scotland and have voted for labour as they are the closest challengers to the SNP. All us against INDYREF 2 have voted tactically to challenge the SNP.

The conservatives have actively canvassed on the Indy Ref issue and will gain more SNP seats than labour but labour will take some.

Around here that was a given; but UKIP was key when it mattered.

(Autobollocks came up with 'when it martyred ' :emoticon-0126-nerd: )

Whatever happens, I think the tabloids' grip on political discourse in this country is slipping. Less than 25% of under-65s read tabloids these days, either print or online. Apparently Murdoch threw a paddy at The Times Election Party when the exit polls were released and stormed off. <laugh>

    The Revenge of the Remainer.

This is the latest strapline to kep us enthused.

It was a crazy, illogical campaign by all (for me) and what will unravel is the beginning or (temporary) end of the youth rebellion.

But in five years they will see things differently.

This is more or less what I said earlier. A rejection of the disgusting media of this country, for too long the Tories (and Blair) cosied up to Murdoch.

Labour are like Ajax - young and growing.

Is it worth a bet of a couple of florins?

    Recount in Hastings.

I have 5 English on Labour at 6-1.

Not bothered about the cash, just want to scalp that awful woman Rudd.

"martyred" is the ultra-posh way of pronouncing "mattered" - so I'm told. I've always rebelled against my aristocratic barkgrawnd however.

Uneducated nonsense, but hardly surprising from you.

The GreyPound doesn't need to buy papers, they're free to read where they spend their leisure time. Those younger do the same in pubs - it only takes 3mins.

Statistics are bollocks, quoting is, too.

So you deny the power of Murdoch in elections in the 80s, 90s and 00s?

383 racists in a single constituency shows there is still a huge problem across the country.

Fewer people are reading tabloids. It's a declining trend.

I believe he had an influence, but I believe it was hugely exaggerated against a well ingrained and inherited political backdrop. Don't you?

I agree, their influence is exaggerated when it suits.
