Don't think we skimped out on Higuain. Problem there was our heads got turned by he prospect of Suarez. If we had wanted him he was ours. Dropped the ball massively on that as he would have been incredible. Still think this is Arsene's biggest error letting him slip through the net.
From that list above though I only think Chu Young was a failure, the others were/are perfectly decent players, just not top quality. Please note I'm not counting Sanogo. He was a free gamble which obviously turn out to be a massive clusterf*ck.
What the Bear has ironically posted is a list of strikers that represented our overly safe approach towards investing in players. Yes they weren't dreadful buys, but they weren't the quality that would have allowed us to take it that one step further to a major title win. I can count at least 4 realistic chances since our last PL title win that we could have won the title, if we took a risk and not penny pinched. Yes we've loosened the purse strings since, but i don't think it's enough to maintain top standard, as proved by our poor showings in the PL and CL.
