Lacazette rumours seem more realistic. I think we will get him, and mahrez, and sell Sanchez.

I think that leaves us in the same position we've been in for the last 13 years. A squad that is 2 or 3 world class players away from challenging for the title, but good enough to finish 4th.

You've been linked with Lacazette for 3 seasons. What makes you think he'd be willing to join you now that your stock is at its lowest than at any point under wenger?

The Mahrez rumours are much more likely - he's very much a Wenger type player and would allow for one of Walcott or Oxlade to be moved on.

They get no credit for going after targets that they have no chance of getting, these are non stories drummed up my the media. Saying that, they have the money to get a genuinely top striker and i will hold off lauding their attempts until they actually land a top CF. We've all been on the Benzema, Higuin, Suarez and the list goes on boat.

BEIN Sports are claiming Wenger and Gazidis were in Nice to discuss the signing of Lacazette not Mbappe.

Would be very happy with this signing also. Lacazette and Giroud would offer us good balance and attacking options

Because this is what Gazidis and Wenger do. Put outrageous bids in for players that they won't get.

Why would you even bid a lower offer than what has already been rejected. In what planet are you from to think a club would accept a lower bid. Thats why people think the bid is a fake bid

Looks like Chelsea will offload Costa.

Now the guy is a straight C**T but he would be perfect for Arsenal. Great finisher, would give us physicality and that fear factor.

You would have to say defending against both Costa and Sanchez would be a ****ing nightmare.

Why would i moan if he tries to genuinely bid for a player? I would be over the moon if we went after them proper. But is this a real bid, and if it is, a sincere one? This is pure speculation and we simply don't know, unless he expresses interest. I fancy our chances to get most players if we really went all out in the transfer window.

Van Persie was Top class. and he cost £3.5million. With less injury problems could have been one of the greats.
Adebayor. Not 'top' class but he cost £3million and had a 30 goal Season. Good signing.
Eduardo - He looked good! Wonder what could have been had'nt his career get ruined by injury.
Olivier Giroud. £11.9m is a bargain for this guy.
Alexis Sanchez. Dont forget this guy can play anywhere across the front. His goalscoring record as a CF is superb. He's World Class.

We also know he wanted Higuain (we didnt bid enough I assume) and we know he tried to sign Benzema both would have been excellent signings.

Its clear to me Wenger knows his strikers. It seems to be negotiations and/or finances that have let us down over the last few years.

RVP - only took 6 seasons to become world class. Point is he was bought for the future

Eduardo - Looked good but ultimately didn't hack it
Giroud - 11.9m was an okay price at the time. Point is he's not a class striker. Hes a level above Chamakh but a few levels below all the strikers that are challenging for the league
Sanchez - Was never a striker, never played up front and was always a winger for other managers. Arsene was the first one to put him up front.

He wanted Higuain and skimped out, and he wanted Benzema and skimped out (who you want to blame i don't know but its wenger that comes out with the value soundbites). You can hardly call Higuain, Benzema and Sanchez "good" scouting. Every man and his dog knew about them when they were moving and they went for huges amounts to represent that everyone knew they were good.

The point is, Arsene hasn't pushed the boat out on a class striker and its only gone and bit his arse even though you've had money to spend recently.

Rather disingenuous the way you've added Sanchez to the list when you know he isn't a specialist CF, but is a career left winger. Just because Wenger has played him in that position a few times doesn't automatically make him a CF. I can post a stats breakdown and prove that if you want? All the rest on that list aren't top class, other than Van Persie, for 1 and a half seasons . I'm sticking to facts that he's failed to bring in a top class CF since Henry left. We've had plenty of opportunities in the past to rectify this mistake but the fault lies with our management.

Let's see what they do in this window. It's only been 15 transfer windows since we brought Henry to Arsenal.

Don't think we skimped out on Higuain. Problem there was our heads got turned by he prospect of Suarez. If we had wanted him he was ours. Dropped the ball massively on that as he would have been incredible. Still think this is Arsene's biggest error letting him slip through the net.

From that list above though I only think Chu Young was a failure, the others were/are perfectly decent players, just not top quality. Please note I'm not counting Sanogo. He was a free gamble which obviously turn out to be a massive clusterf*ck.
