Just done about 12 miles on foot around the dales from Rosedale. Lunch at the Red Lion Blakey Ridge - Nice, hot, might regret it later.
Did you walk the old railway line? That's a cracker. If you need a snack on the way home pop into Middlesbrough. There's a handy macdonalds there.

Cheers Dennis.its not nice watching your parents at that stage of life.i think when it's my turn I shall buy a very expensive malt and disappear with it never to be seen again
Lost my mam just before Xmas after a long illness! Both gone now so I'm head of my little dynasty now! And you're right mate a bottle of single malt and Bowie playing sounds ok to me when I'm ready to go! Sounds like a rock n roll <cheers>

Nowt wrong with yours, but sadly people won't leave it there and see the mere mention as an excuse for a political rant.

I delete one, I really have to delete them all.

Quite confusing these rules.

So we're allowed to name politicians and be disparaging about them providing we don't 'rant' about them?

I was offered a child for adoption but I turned it down, I wanted to raise a May baby.

I'll leave it now. Point made, I think.

If someone makes a joke, I generally just leave it up (as I did with Al's earlier), but if that joke leads to others thinking it's open season on mentioned politician, then I have to delete it.

In an ideal world, people would moderate themselves and I wouldn't have to delete anything.

Fair enough.

No not really, just using words that happen to be politicians names is one thing, threads going political is another. I didn't see your post that was deleted or any of the connected ones before or after it, but if one has to go it's best if the whole group go.
The mods have a thankless task on here and I think most of the time they get it right.

You mean they don't make concessions to your way of life and culture like they demand of us?

Yes Jordan has about 20% Christian. Sorry trying not to make religious part of this. I did it out of respect. As many of my Muslim friends do to me. In the last two evenings I have been invited to two different families meals (iftar) it was a pleasure and felt very privileged to be invited. I am always made more than welcome. There is also a church about half a mile from my house. I will leave it there.

I didn't mean that. Aren't bacon sarnies made available like we make halal available? In fact we make everyone at school dinners eat halal if they like it or not.
Just being flippant. I know a few people who work or who have worked out there.

People on here might be surprised by what you find in the Middle East.

Yes you can get bacon I found a supermarket that sells bacon ham etc but that was in Amman. I have since moved to Aqaba at the very south of Jordan and I am yet to find anywhere which, sells it.which is a bit of a bugger. But at least I get to swim in the Red sea.
