Strong rumours that Wayne has decided to put heart before bank account and return to Everton in the summer.

Not sure what to make of it tbh, is he better than what we've got? Where would we play him? Will most Blues be happy with this or see it as a Gazza or Ginola moment?

It's a well trodden path to the NW for south coast players.

I'm sure Southampton will have some top class youth ready to promote and lose again soon

It's 2 years late, but at the right price will raise the profile of the club and attract better commercial deals just due to his name
 
Im not convinced that Rooney offers a lot these days. A huge part of Rooneys game when he was younger was the energy and work rate he had to chase down everything, and be everywhere on the pitch. He just does not have the fitness these days to do that, and has failed to adjust his playing style in the same way Scholes and Giggs did to play well in his 30s. I actually think it's a case of him not being technically as good as those 2 aswell.

He might be able to do a job as an impact substitution, but if the plan is to make him a key player, and play him every game then your going to be very disappointed in what you get back in return.

I wouldn't expect too much from him mate, and you really want to hope he's not your first choice RB.

He can look good sometimes but most of the time he looks more competition winner than Premier League footballer.

Oh and as an outsider I think it would be a poor decision to sign Rooney, think it would be more sentimental and wouldn't justify his wages.

If he is wanted to save buying a CB and he bombs Holgate will be shifted back out im just thinking he wants someone more attack minded than Holgate to fill in for Coleman.

I agree tbh he wants too much money for his ability now i wouldnt want him unless he was dirt cheap the rumours are the big wigs are thinking the same cost versus his age etc
 
Rooney is still a class player whatever you think and will get enough goals to pay his wages....I have no doubt about that.....Man U are a far bigger club than Everton and have more options and yet he still scored goals.......
 
If signing the lad on a free from Southampton means holgate moves into the back three then that's fine by me. Browning is coming back so have another CB who can also do a job at RB.

Jim also told us that Rom would sign a deal.

The Keane and Sandro news is a massive plus.

In fairness he had Raiola on, and it was him who said he was 99.9% going to sign.

I'd be alright with a season long loan for Wayne, the move could really fire him up, and whilst his pace has gone, he's still a quality footballer, and would definitely enhance the squad.
