Liverpool have no plans to sign a goalkeeper this summer – despite speculation linking them with Iker Casillas. (James Pearce)

Jurgen Klopp has admitted Liverpool's transfer business is likely to take longer to conduct than he would like this summer.

The Anfield manager brought in all of his new faces before his squad reported for the start of pre-season training on July 20 last year.

Back then, Sadio Mane, Joel Matip, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ragnar Klavan, Loris Karius and Alex Manninger were all recruited despite the European Championships also taking place in France.

Although there is no such obstacle in that respect this time, the German concedes he is unlikely to have each new addition in place before his players report to begin building up to the 2017/18 campaign.
Sounds like that "everything is well under way" has been revised to "the players I really want are waiting to see if we make into the CL in August, if not we will go for second targets"

It's gone ridiculously quiet!!

When does the window actually open?? I suspect rather than drip feeding half truths and lies into the market, agents are actually quite busy right now!

Hope we get what Klopp wants.

Liverpool must break their transfer record to sign Naby Keita
7.30am: Brazil manager Tite has urged Philippe Coutinho to quit Liverpool and move to Barcelona.
Tite spoke to Spanish newspaper Sport about the Reds star's future.
Asked about a move to Barcelona, Tite said: "I'm always talking hypothetically, let's make that clear.
"There have Sergio Busquets and the two midfielders, what in Italy they call 'mezzalas' (half wingers/attackers) that are Rakitic and Iniesta, that are the two thinkers of the side.
"Coutinho can play in that role. He is an ideal player for Barca."
7am: Liverpool's interest in Iker Casillas appears to have ended as quickly as it began.
Liverpool were said to be in for Casillas, 36, as manager Jurgen Klopp seeks a new goalkeeper.
Bookmakers even stopped running a market on the Spaniard heading to Anfield.
But the Liverpool Echo claim Klopp and the Reds board are 'baffled' by the rumours of Casillas' imminent arrival.
The club are said to have no plans whatsoever to land the Real Madrid legend, who is a free agent after leaving Porto.

Apparently Keita will cost up towards £50m. RBL don't want to let him go as they got CL football
